You mean you're putting your week's worth of stuff into one carryon? Wow, you must be efficient!
Put things into plastic bags, either the "packing" kind, or just some ziplocks. That way, if they need to go through your bag, they can just remove the bags; they're easy to put back in.

I would pack as you normally would for any vacation. However, if you are afraid of having you luggage searched there are two ways you can go about it...
1. Check your luggage...meaning give it to the airport to be put in cargo while you fly...it will probably be x-rayed and (though not really likely hand searched...it's random). I have never had a problem with checking my luggage, however when people's luggage is lost it's because it was put on the wrong plane...also not very likely, but it does happen. If this is what you want I would put all of you toiletries, medicine and an emergency outfit (including undergarments) in a carry-on bag in case your luggage is lost.
2. You second option is to pack lightly...each person is allowed to have technically 2 carry-on bags. One that is the smaller size suite case (which you would pack with clothes...) and the other is one that can easily be carried as a large pocket book that would hold all the above mentioned toiletries but not the extra clothes because you'll have your other bag for that...
Keep you outfits organized and easily coordinated...so that you can bring less but mix and match!
Have fun

For a week trip, decide what you want to pack, make a list of what you are bringing (in your head at least) and then do laundry 2 days before and pack everything fresh out of the dryer, leaving one change of clothes for the plane trip. It's always cold on a plane so make sure your travel clothes are somewhat warm (long sleeves. No sweaters though because it'll be hot when you get off.) As for the actual packing..Start with socks and underwear. more than you think you'll need. Nothing worse than getting your shoes wet or going for an impulse swim and coming up short on the last day, since you probably won't do laundry on a week vacation. Then go to pants/shorts/skirts. I'm a guy so I do half as many pairs as days I'm going, plus one. If you're a girl you may want to bring more. Shirts/tops, one each day, plus one. And one NICE OUTFIT. You never know what might come up. As for unpacking in the airport, use a duffel bag since a medium sized one is about right for a week, check it in so you don't have to unpack (they don't lose stuff nearly as often anymore.) I do toiletries in a carryon, because if they do lose my bag I want to brush my teeth and have deodorant. But that's just me. You want to have your carryon as small and light as possible because you'll be standing with it. And standing with it. And inching forward. It's not that bad, just plan it out in your head before you go, get it all together so that you can pack the night before without any trouble.

Just write youself a list of the things you need to take with you then pack them similar items into plastic bags and put them in your case. That way everything stays together nicely and is easy to unpack when you get to your destination. Take a small hand bag for the plane with lots of compartments in it. One that has an easy accessable compartment on the front is very useful for your passport and tickets as you will be getting them in and out alot. Take a book/ magazine and a drink of water in your bag as well. Maybe some hard boiled sweet to suck as the plane takes off to help stop your ears from popping. Make sure you have some money in that bag. Nothing sharp should be in your hand luggage.
That is it. Enjoy your flight, i really love flying, it is the beginning of the holiday. have fun

Roll all your clothing instead of folding it. It takes up less space, prevents wrinkles, and stays together more neatly/tightly (so if you have to unpack your bag in the airport it wont be a pain. Make sure you put anything that could leak in tightly sealed plasitc zip-loc baggies (shampoo, liqud make-up, lotion, etc.)
Make sure you find out all the luggage regulations of the airline. What you are and are not allowed to pack, how big the suitcases are allowed to be, what you can carry on, etc...It's very important that you base all of your packing on this!
Don't over-pack...bring things that you can mix and match for outfits and re-use. Less is more :)
good luck, have a nice trip

I will recommend packing light. If holiday trip pack enough to last the stay and check your luggage in. You do not have to open it on checking in. Only random security or custom check before you leave the airport. So you need not worry too much about this.
If need to open your luggage, just open it for the security staff to run through. You will just need to repack after that. It will not be a frequent thing.

u dont have to unpack your luggage. try to use a couple suitcases so that it is easier to unpack. try using a lightweight bag for luggage so it is easy to get of the carosel. for your carry on bag try not to pack lots of clothes but if you run out of room in your luggage put the rest in your carry on with some magazines or books and stuff like that

Just take 3-4 outfits that you can mix and match, three pair of shoes, and pack your make up and toiletries in Ziplocs. You can roll your clothes so that they take up less space too. If you're checking your luggage they may or may not open your bags, unless you're going through customs.

if you're keeping your bags as carry-on, make sure you have no metal. no lighters, fingernail clippers anything. then you should be fine.
if you need to bring stuff like that with you i would suggest getting one bag to check in and then you can stick your metal in there. if all else fails they might look through it once, but since its not going to be on the plane with you in reach they wont really care about metal as much.
dont worry, security people are pretty nice. they just have to do their jobs.
another thing... make sure you dont wear any metal on your belt, or shoes, or if you do take them off for when you walk through the metal detectors. that includes watches and stuff too. anything that could set them off needs to go in the trays before you walk through.
happy landings!
