Because we have so many people who feel they KNOW what's going on and will ignore any new information. Most of the people who are the loudest are the one's still claiming that Evolution states we descended directly from apes. And these are the people the rest of the blind and deaf followers listen to. They refuse to read up on it themselves because they feel these other people wouldn't dare lie to them or give out misinformation.
It's really sad too. Or stats compared to other countries show just how low our education has become. It's a lot like the medical thing... in Germany they drink beer constantly and allow children as young as 14 to go into bars.... yet they don't have near the problem with alcoholism that we do here.
Goes to show that those who claim to be "intelligent" are usually missing a few.

Because the US is a predominately Christian country and the theory of evolution goes against the grain of beliefs. On the other hand, check any high school science book and you'll find plenty of information on evolution. Our government will never come out and say they accept evolution as long as Christianity dominates.

Because the rest of the world is moving forward and the USA is moving backwards. There is a real irony approaching as one day the average American will be as smart as a monkey. Of course, for some like Bush, that would be an improvement.

There are to many Christians fighting it and too many creationists proving more and more that evolution isnt sound, doesnt hold water and the fact that theres too many different kinds of theorys for it. Its been around for hundreds of years and evolutionist still cant find the mising links, or the proof that everything came from nothing. Nobody was around 6 billion years ago, and of cource nothing was around then either.

the world fails to understand creation,
the are studing science which is based on gods act of cration,
thus they are studing god.
