Being clingy is not letting the other person have any personal space because you're scared of loosing them. Not letting a good thing get away is treating the person you're with like you'd want to be treated.

Think of it like a dog on a leash. If you keep it wrapped up so tight that they can't even get their feet on the ground. Thats clingy.

If you give them a few feet of lead and let them walk beside you freely, then thats not letting them get away.

Clingy is basically when you start getting real possessive of them, which is NOT a good thing. Show them you care and that you love them. Make time to be with them, but trust them enough to have their own time and space as well.
