Many states will actually allows you to contest the ticket and even have a "trial by mail". Most, if not all, will allow you to plead guilty and pay the ticket without showing up. After all, what's the point of wasting everyone's time by having you miss work, wait around for hours, just to say "guilty" and whip out your checkbook?

There should be a number ont the ticket you can call to arrange things & find out your options. You're already paying for this service whether you end up paying the ticket or not, might as well take advantage of it.

You can request more time from the judge. Now the issue is how much will it cost to miss work and how much will it cost to just pay the ticket or go to traffic school online just look at your state and see if you can do this. Currently Arizona, and California both allow it.

If you pay it, you don't have to show up. If you fight it however, you can look in your phone book for something along the lines of "The Ticket Clinic" who will represent you for a flat fee (usually MUCH less than the amount of the ticket itself), or, if you have a summons showing a particular court date/time for you, then your employer can not hold it against you. Copy it, one to your boss and one to your H.R. department, and they MUST let you go without penalizing you at work for it.

In most cases, you can just pay the fine and accept the points if you don't want to go to court. If it is something that requires your presence in court you likely did something very bad and work should be the lesser of your concerns.

Pay the ticket. If you can't pay the ticket then talk to your boss to see if you can miss a day of work or work overtime. I hope you work it out. And Good Luck! You'll need it!!

Call traffic court and talk to some one there and see if you can arrange something. If you can't, then you have no choice but to miss work.

You can contact the court and ask for a Saturday hearing or night court. Don't just not show up...they will issue a bench warrant for your arrest.

If you got a ticket only, you can pay it and then it is resolved. Why do you have to show up for a "ticket" ???
