If you look at the Muslim and Jewish relgions as well as many others, you'll find that their place of worship is also the center for the community and the center of their culture. Do you think the church should do this as well (Not in place of worship and fellowship, but in addition to) What do you all think? (No bashing please)

I don't mean should be separate, I know we should. But what I mean is should have a whole separate culture and center of meeting with ideas and community apart from everyone else?

Christians do have a culture of their own, but it is not segregated like most other religious cultures are. We prefer to integrate into society, rather than to sun from it.

Well, in the Southern US, this is already the case. I think that separation breeds intolerance for those different from yourself. It would be much more productive if great interfaith centers were built everywhere where people could meet other people of all backgrounds. We are all people and no-one is evil just because of a group they belong to. It would be easier for people to understand that if they had the opportunity to develop friends of all faiths.

No! And I am a Christian, I just have a problem with anything being too tied together. Our country's founders saw how the Church of England and the Catholic church were misused as a political weapon and took steps to keep that from happening here.

I think the Islamics and the Jewish are dramatic examples of how bad an idea that is.
