I know exactly what you mean though...
you spend a lot of time, trying to make it all pretty... and then..

Yes, I made a delicious looking salad at HY-VEE and when it came time to add the dressing there was no vinaigrette so I just used thousand island and oh was that terrible.

Everybody makes that mistake once. After that, you just skip the salad if they don't have your dressing. Eventually, you develop a first, second, and third dressing choice. If all are out, so am I.
