I'm trying to gel my hair so the bangs stick up. When I try to do it, I can only get the right half and the middle of my head to do it! On the left side it just kinda curls and it's annoying. What should I do? I'm using rave gel so should I get a stronger gel, or find some other kind of hair product to use? Or is it just that my hair isn't ment to gel the way I want it?

Also..the most annoying part is..the day I get my haircut, when I gel it that day, it turns out perfect. Then the next day I can't get it like I had the day before..

get the garnier fructise xxl strong hold gel...it works really good!

Use a fine tooth comb and comb that side to straighten it and then spray it with a little hair spray before you put the gel in. That always worked with my brother.

Yeah, I'd straighten it first if you have one, and then get a super hard hair gel like Bedhead, and put it in. Doing this, it HAS to work.

You might have a cowlick on the one side of your hair. Meaning the hair grows in a different direction than the rest. You might need to use a flatiron on it to get it to go the direction you want.

my hubby uses pomade, a wax or hair putty rather than gel. works better for keeping the bangs up and hair smoothed.

your hair is too long if it curls, try getting it trimmed, and try again.. if your still having some trouble, try some stronger stuff, but my best bet would be to get it trimmed first... you might have to train your hair to become used to this new style..
