My kittens are 5 months old and it's really hot in my apartment. Is it better to give them room temp. tap water, or cold bottled water from fridge?

You could try either or but avoid ice cubes or making the water too cold. If it's that hot in the area, offering your cat ice cold water can actually kill him (because you'll be cooling his body down too fast).

Room temp water is fine, that won't change the temperature in his body anyway (and it actually is much colder to them then it would be to us--because they're body temps are higher than ours).

When its hot give them cold water so they can drop their internal temp. down. Otherwise just give the cat water from your tap. The cat doesn't have a preference as long as its wet. lol They do love milk and the drained water from a can of tuna is a nice treat too.

My cats prefer cold water with ice cubes.
I think for most cats, cold tap water is good enough...and be sure to give them fresh water several times a day.

Tap water. Cats really don't like food or water to be cold. They need the water for hydration, not to keep cool, so it doesn't need to be cold, and they will be less likely to drink it if it is.

its kinda hard to say because if you give your cats cold water (which is a good idea) and your apartment is hot the water will most likely turn to room temperature water so its kinda hard to keep it cold

I think it depends on the cat itself. but my cat 2 kitties like room temperature water best. one day I filled their bowl up with cold water and I kept noticing them go to touch the water with their paw and then walk away. that's not normal for my cats. so I gave them room temperature again and they both drank the water. They're both strictly inside cats so they don't really need Cold water anyways. They luv it!!! Hope I Helped!!

Room temperature. Make sure you dry them well after. Even though cats have hair, they also have a higher body temp, so being cold can cause them to get sick.

Mine love the cold water. As a special "treat," sometimes I put an ice cube in their water bowl.
