Religion is just a convenient excuse. The fighting would happen anyway.

even if there is no religion in this world, there will always be wars between oppressors and subjects. If there is law, there are always violators. If there is no law, there will always be conflicts arising from anarchy and disorders. Wars are not fought for religion, but the ruling class use religion as an effective method for recruitment. If war is really due to religious indifference, why would the smallest unit of a society, that is the family, have arguments, brawls, murders etc even if they profess the same religion or no religion at all?

Hatred of "being" wrong. Imagine that your Whole world is in disarray because of someone saying "I am right and you are wrong"? And giving examples they feel will prove it. "Everybody can't be right if everybody is wrong." Religion is not the only cause of destruction, as you say, look around. I think Greed and Pride are a very big factor. Oil, money, land etc etc. How about not trying to do anything about our environment? Are we too lazy a race?

Because the roots of the religious ones have always contradicted each other, pitting one against the other so that everybody is eventually involved in a large war that doesn't stop at war. It continues to discrimination, and not just religious discrimination. In the past, the human race has made conquests in the name of one God or another, believing that they were saving the very world they were destroying.

Because the churches of Christendom are part of "Babylon the Great" and they are bloodguilty and their sins have amassed clear up to heaven. True Christians do not participate in the wars of the nations. They do not fight or kill. They are peaceable with all men and follow Jesus' example. They show genuine love for one another and for all mankind. They obey "God as ruler, rather than men". All false religion is held accountable to God.

You only know five questions, don't you? World War II, in the name of social darwinism, Cold War in the name of atheism. That's 30 million down for just two guys! Can you name 20 true Christians who added up to that much? True Christianity does not condone murder. True atheism doesn't have the moral code authority to deny it.
