You are right. Catholics are taught many things that contradict the Bible. There are many passages in the Bible to back this up, such as the verse that speaks of "one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ". I hope that's close as I don't have a Bible handy. How many different "saints" to the catholics pray to hoping for intercession?
Joey120746 - I thought you were a devout atheist. Remember you saying it was your "holy" way to be? You sure seem to think a lot of religion because here you are defending one.

You certainly don't know a thing about Catholicism--which is the religion that Jesus founded! Catholics do not "worship" Mary, they honor her. (And, yes, she IS the queen of Heaven.) The Pope is not worshiped, either. Catholics believe that through the blessings and grace of God, in all three manifestations (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the duly elected Pope cannot make an error on matters of the Catholic faith/dogma. He can, of course, make any other sort of error. Catholics also believ e that Jesus died for their sins, and that they are forgiven through the blood of Christ. When in Confession, the priest takes the place of Jesus, so that man can receive an aural confirmation of his forgiveness. (Remember Jesus said, "Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; whose sins you shall retain, they are retained", giving the priests the latitude to perform the Sacrament of Conciliation.) "Christians" like you seem to follow some very strange teachings: God IS!
ps--Catholics ARE Christians. There is no "two religions" about it. Catholics follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and believe that they are saved by the Blood of Jesus--that He died for all mans sins. What "Christian" religion are YOU talking about? There are many of them.

Only those who do not attend church or read the Bible will confuse both of these religions....Respect other people's belief's as you would like yours to be respected...
