Why is the catholic church so evil and been allowed to get away with it for so long?

To many to list but here's an example you can apply universally even to jobs products politicians religion etc. that explains this phenomenon.
Person 1 sees a way (loophole) to make easy money (marketing/lying) with/using Person 2 (talented/altruistic or not). By selling to/victimizing Person 3, which Person 1 sees as prey. Problem is that Persons 1,2 and 3 are (a society that some knowingly, some in personal denial of such knowledge but all know) are the/in decay. Meet your new and improved god CONTROL. "Those who have no self control try to control others, those with self control try to teach it to others."

I don't know WHY they are evil, other than they are so greedy (power, money, politics, etc.), but I think the reason they have gotten away with it for so long is because they have the money, and money will let you get away with anything, even murder (right OJ?). They are allowed to get away with it because there is not one thing on this earth so far that has had the power to stomp them out. They are more powerful than most people realize, and I think that even if a huge group of people were to fight against them, the catholic church would still get away with everything. They are uniting politically with the united nations to gain even more power. Who are you to judge the Catholic church to be evil? Judgment is reserved for the all Highest alone, do any of these ring a bell: "Judge not lest ye be judged"; "Remove the log from your own eye before you remove the mote from your brothers"; "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord"? The excesses of the Catholic church, historically, have been no worse than the excesses of the Protestants and Muslims. The Protestants were the ones in Germany who taught that all living Jews are personally responsible for the death of Christ, leading to the Holocaust. There were no Catholics there at Salem Town for the witch hunts: none there when the South withdrew from the Union citing, with the full support of the Baptist church, the Biblical right to own slaves as one of the reasons; none murdering people in abortion clinics; none in the KKK; and, certainly none involved in 9/11; to name the few most obvious. People declaring other peoples faiths "evil" is the ongoing source of some of the bloodiest and most vicious warfare ever, from the Crusades to Iraq. Isn't it time people of good will from all faiths started working together to put it behind us? Those who ignore the mistakes of the past, are destined to repeat them. An aside to those to whom it matters, I'm not Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Jewish, or Muslim, just someone who studies History, and likes to see the facts gotten straight.

You can't say the whole catholic church is evil...

There are sickos in every line of work.
Unfortunately - it just makes it all the more controversial when
someone from the church does something bad.

Are you a member of the church?
Perhaps rather than just pointing your finger - you could
just give up on that religion.
It is hard to maintain power when your number of followers

One reason is because Satan keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. He misleads many in Christendom, not just Catholics. But the Bible does say this at 1Timothy 4:1-5_"The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer." (NIV)
Which religion is Paul warning about? The one forbidding priests to marry and to not eat meats on certain days.

Traditional beliefs die hard? Better you should ask why Jesus was rejected by the very people he came to reveal Gods love to and turned over to those who had no clue that a God could care? While any creation of man is faulty, God only cares that man change away from the self-importance and accept His importance in all that we do. because the church is the only sucessful world empire. you piss of the pope, the pope hates you and then tells all the catholics that if they are good catholics, they will hate you too. however not al catholics are like that.
