I think every soldier is afraid of going to battle if you aren't then somethings wrong with you.
I think you're referring more to the media coverage of the war. I have to agree if you're in the Army for free money and didn't want to make the sacrifice, you're stealing.
You're stealing from me, my family, your family. That's a shame.
Every soldier willingly puts themselves in harms way and let's face it, that's what they're paid to do.

My husband is in Iraq. Its not the fact of a good combat experience. These guys have families they want to come home to. Most of them didn't ask. Hey Can I go over to Iraq? I mean really. Just because they are ready to come home from the war, doesn't mean they don't like combats. My husband loves the military, but at the same time, he would rather be home with our family.

you have no clue what you are talking about. they join the military to DEFEND their country, if death is part of the territory they know it's a risk they have to take. why do you point this just to the US Army??? There are 5 branches of military and they all have to be prepared the same way. Let me clarify on the 5 branches -- Army, Marine, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Navy. Why are you just point this at one event even? Yes it's current but what about WWI and WWII, how about Vietnam?? They may be older but those were worse then what our current situation is, but why limit yourself? Would you want to go to Iraq and think you may not be able to see your kid grow up? My husband is fully ready to go to battle for the USA and ignorant people in the USA that think the military is no good, but he is scared as hell that when that day comes he may not be able to come back and see his daughter again. Tell me. If you went to Iraq and had a family would you be prepared to know you may never come back to play with your kid? I think, FYI, you are one of those ignorant people asking a question like this I don't see how you can't be.
Yes it's honorable to die in battle. People may join just because of the education but they realize it's something completely different as soon as they begin their training. Money is never free, you have to work for it all. They may be paid on a salary base, but like any job you can get "fired" in this case would be a "discharge" and if it's dishonorable they could have major problems looking for a new job in the outside world.

The British authorities ought to call for that the U. S. pilots be extradited and stand trial yet this wont take position. What occurred in this party changed into completely avoidable..those pilots only panicked and opened hearth. To shoot at an best pal once is a mistake yet to shoot a 2d time, after confirmation of 'blue on blue is homicide. i do not care what you yanky bas terds say, your pilots are boastful sh1t stabbers who position self assurance in each and every of the technologies on board...your a collection of set off chuffed pink necks with one objective...'to shoot some thing that strikes. If someone won't be able to tell the adaptation between a huge orange sticky label at the front of a motor vehicle and a small tip of a missile then you really ought to no longer be using a skateboard, no longer to tutor sitting in a c0ck pit of a killing device. Unknowingly causing 'blue on blue' is one aspect yet to proceed firing after allied confirmation is only undeniable homicide. And why ought to the human beings of the united kingdom close up about this atrocity...you yanks favor to comprehend that you won't be able to easily kill all and sundry you want. And for nekkra F..particular authorities bodies aren't from now on civilians and therefor ought to easily accept so reported as labeled coaching, yet this did not take position.

Some soldiers live for that...my fiance is currently deployed to Iraq...Its being away from your family and friends that u grew up with...knowing in the back of ur mind at any time u could die.
Imagine how all the spouses (like me) are dealing with this. Some soldiers don't want to go to war cuz they don't support it. But they have no choice. Once ur in a war thay dont give a **** about u.
All in all it is one of the hardest things i have ever had to deal with.

Lost,
So, tell me about all your military experiences. Oh. Nobody wants to die. People don't join the military so they can die. They join to get an education , to travel, and maybe a retirement, and health benefits for their families. A few actually want to serve their country. We all just hope the sh*t doesn't hit the fan while it's our tour of duty. When it does, you go, but that doesn't mean you have to like it.

How dare you!! Maybe its bc they have a family that they love and would like to be there for. And as for the "free" money, I'm sure any soldier would tell you that being away from family and friends and missing important things in their children's lives are not worth any amount of money but they do it bc they want to provide for their family in way that they wouldn't be able to working a minimum wage job somewhere. If a draft is started I hope your the first one they send over there!

I imagine that if someone fired at you, you would charge at them empty-handed with a mean look on your face. As a combat vet , I'd like to invite you to the next little go around & see your blinding courage displayed first hand. Talking about combat or watching newsfootage of it doesn't qualify you to comment on another person's reactions under stress.

They want them to come back so they don't have to die. Perhaps you should join the army and see what your family thinks.
