I think you all forgot the purpose of this forum. Maybe even the one who asked first. This is the etiquette section.
Then I should say that people keep their hands in their pant pockets because of bad education. They have no respect for others and show it that way. It´s the "body language" meaning of keeping your hands there.

It could mean a few things. Take the rest of the body language into account. Some consider it a sign of laziness, while some are actually either just shy or uncomfortable in their surroundings. Others do it to keep their pants up.

To hide something. It is a good thing for liars (I hate liars) because there are nervous habits that liars do, like touch their nose, or wipe their mouth while they lie.
Another thing, is to keep their hands warm. Some people do it to hide their gut. Its a pose thing, in some cases.
Some men do it because its easy access, lol.

it is a nervous habit that helps calm people when they are feeling uncormfutable. A type of security that makes them more comfortable in their surroundings. Others do it just out of habit of playing with keys or coins. When thinking its an unconcious habit

I do it so I do not figit about or play with my hair and what not. It could be considered a bad habit but it is not really. Something to do with my hands.
