One example is there is a religion that no longer believes in polygamy except for a spinoff sect of them. Does that mean that from their perspective that God or their prophet was wrong on polygamy and they now corrected it, or are they wrong for not practicing it anymore?

Not just this one religion but many others have changed beliefs or rewritten their bibles. So when a religion changes a philosophy obviously one or the other was wrong. So was it their prophet/God or they?

Not picking on any particular religion just curious which party was wrong to incur the change.

The problem with organized religion---and I am speaking of groups that practice non-Biblical forms of Christianity or that are totally non-Christian---is that they are run by human beings and not by God. God is never wrong, but people are forever wrong in how they interpret God's truth. Religious organizations egg and flow with the personalities that comprise them; thus, the rules constantly change. The perfect church has yet to be found, for as soon as you walk into what you think is the perfect church it is no longer perfect. Churches are made up of people and all people---including the Pope---are fallible. Jesus Christ was, is and forever will be infallible because he is God. His word is true and the Bible can be trusted for all time. Jesus loves you.

Actually God is unchanging. Men are the ones guilty of changing things. They all have their "rules". Things that they think are true or should be followed. It doesn't necessarily mean they are right....or wrong for that matter.

Using your sme example, Polygamy. God Never really stated it was wrong. Examples are King David, King Solomon etc. They had many. When David pulled the fast one with Bathsheba, God said basically "Why did you do that? Don't you know that I would have given you all that you desired?"...(wives) Jesus stated that the leadership of the church should have only one wife. (Prevents conflicts/disruptions etc). His design, Male/Female = Adam/Eve indicate his preference, but men have made it a sin/against the law etc.

I think most has to do with interpretation and understanding. Those who seek, study and rpay for widom and understanding, often find things different than what they were taught...

Making changes, or twisting to suit your own purpose is obviously wrong, but there are those that do it self-righteously, and then those that follow, because they have no solid foundation to stand on to begin with. Sad, sad. Folks are just too lazy to look for or accept other opinions...look at politics..it's all follow the leader.

I think that if a religion changes a belif then they are basicly changing religion like in your example it sounds like your refering to LDS in which case there is the modern LDS religion that doesnt belive in polygamy but its not the same religion it was, however that also has affected the small sect also, because know they are persecuted and so dont have the ability to act as they once did which most likely makes them change slowly. so eventualy the way any religion was once is basicly lost not complety but it is changed and so it is not the same religion anymore despite what the name of it is. the modern churches are never identicle to past ones but then again everything changes so that is almost to be expected.

You have to remember that any religion is open to how they are being perceived and trying to recruit new followers. It is common for most modern faiths to try to change with the times. For a long time some faiths have held onto the dogmas of old and now are suffering because of it. Chance is hard for some, and when you attempt it, it will be met with resistance.

I would imagine that the religion was wrong. In the case of Christianity, If something changes, it isn't because God changed, because he doesn't. So that leaves man as the problem. Either he was wrong to start with or changed to be wrong.

Religions are based on the known world, facts etc at the time. When more is found, and somethings are found to be wrong, many facts of the time then go against religion. Religion must the adapt or die.

Religions evolve with society whether they admit it or not. It's a big deal for a while, but when it quiets down, they act like it was never different and hope that people don't remember the way things used to be. They never admit that they were actually wrong.

No, it's just evidence that all religions and the idea of god are all man-made. Philosophies change because civilization does; that's why religions change over the centuries. It's all myth.

I studied with JW's for 3 years. I comprehend what they say and there are some good factors. Jesus on no account claimed to be God. there is greater advantageous than one 'son of god', yet Jesus grew to become into given greater advantageous authority and a undeniable objective. He got here as a results of fact the servant of all.

ALL religions are man made. Jesus NEVER set up a religion. God NEVER set up a religion. God simple desires to have a relationship with the humans he created. He loves us and desires we love him back. It is man who makes it complicated. Salvation is a gift from God. Either one turns to God and accepts the works of Jesus or they don't. So simple. His yoke is easy, His burden light.
