Lyrics
I'd gone through so much other stuff
that walking down the aisle was tough
but now I know it's not enough
I want to be a clone
I asked the Lord into my heart
they said that was the way to start
but now you've got to play the part
I want to be a clone
chorus:
Be a clone and kiss conviction goodnight
cloneliness is next to Godliness, right?
I'm grateful that they show the way
'cause I could never know the way
to serve him on my own
I want to be a clone
They told me that I'd fall away
unless I followed what they say
who needs the Bible anyway?
I want to be a clone
Their language it was new to me
but Christianese got through to me
now I can speak it fluently
I want to be a clone
(chorus)
Send in the clones
Ah, I kind of wanted to tell my friends and people about it, you know
What?
You're still a babe
you have to grow
give it twenty years or so
'cause if you want to be one of his
got to act like one of us
(chorus)
So now I see the whole design
my church is an assembly line
the parts are there
I'm feeling fine
I want to be a clone
I've learned enough to stay afloat
but not so much I rock the boat
I'm glad they shoved it down my throat
I want to be a clone
Everybody must get cloned

Why do you Atheists always question and insult other religions
If you guys are really happy being an Atheist, like you claim, then stop acting like little jealous b*thces and live your own life.

Please, if you do release this to publication in a song don't hide the message behind blaring horns or guitars or drums. You have just enough mysticism in it to have a hit. Its not 20 years by the way, its more like finding the right question to elevate you into Gods awareness. Of course when that happens your not a clone anymore.

Very good lyrics. You are a good writer and your message is heart felt. But you are not called to be like other Christians, no matter what anyone tells you. You are called to be like Christ. Sometimes, as the Bible proves, being like Christ will make you unpopular with religious people. Not all people who attend church or even who claim to be Christians are truly following in the ways of Christ and are truly lovers of God.
Someone I know once pointed out something to me that I have seen to be true over the years. Some religious people are lovers of "church." The get excited over the organizational structure, the look of the building, the ins and outs of church life as if it were a club. The will start bitter fights over procedure, walking over and wounding the people in their path.
Other religious people are lovers of "religion." They love the rules and are quick to enforce them. If you are struggling in your walk with the Lord, you'd better not let them know, because they will judge you for it and they are stingy with compassion. They only really have time for the people who follow all the rules.
Fewer religious people are lovers of God. They are involved in church because it is the best way to minister to the people of God. They are involved in their community because it is the best way to minister to the people who don't know God. Their love for God is demonstrated by compassion and forgiveness and kindness and gentleness and faithfulness and self-control. They are full of peace and patience. They are generous with all that they have because they recognize that all that they have comes from God. They are not perfect, but they are moving forward and growing in all of these areas and becoming more and more like Christ every day.

The "clones" I guess you are talking about are just people who pretend to be Christians and think they're good and everything.
I'm a Christian.
I'm not a "clone."
I don't let the church do the thinking for me.
Juts because you're a Christian doesn't mean you are a so called clone just like everyone else,
mkayyy?

Because most so called Christians let the church to all their thinking for them, and are incapable of thinking for themselves
