Well if you do indeed live in or near NYC, you could start with lunch at a nice restaurant like The Triple Crown (I ate here last month they have excellent food, fast service, and isn't too crowded) or maybe see a Broadway matinee or an off-Broadway matinee or go somewhere like ESPN Zone or the new Dave and Busters. Or you could have a Virgin Megastore, MTV Store, or Toys R Us shopping spree. During the evening you could go to a cool theme restaurant like Stardust Diner (I've been here also, the service is slow but the people are nice, pretty good food, singers are great, and they play video clips from different tv and movies on a big screen, try to get seating on the ground level), Mars 2112, Bubba Gumps, or something similar. Then before or after you could go to see a Broadway/off Broadway show if you didn't already in the afternoon. There are several really good ones playing.

If you are old enough get some of your best buds together and go to a comedy club. Or go watch a drag show. Always a blast!!
