I love the Word of God. It helps me get through. It teaches me to love. I am so glad God pursued me...

Oh Amber ways of grain. If you really want to understand it you need to apply logic as why it is written. It's like a history book, diary, a confession wishful thinking and a warning about the future. It doesn't make for very good rolling papers though.

YES... as a matter of fact I HAVE read it... took an entire school year when I was in a Jesuit High School... I've also read Saint Thomas Aquinas's' Summa Theologica... IN LATIN...
I have had more religion in my life than just about any other person I know... including all the weak minded geezus freaks who think they are right and everyone else is wrong.
BUT... to answer your question... YES ... I have read the entire Bible and NO I still don't believe it is anything other than a poorly written collection of letters and epistles and gospels and nursery Rhymes written for people with limited intelligence and minimal education.
My belief, after reading the Bible is, IT'S BETTER TO HAVE A BRAIN AND NO RELIGION THAN TO HAVE A RELIGION AND NO BRAIN.
Any other questions?

I have read it, which is one of the reasons that I AM so passionately against it. All the killing and raping and slavery and polygamy that's supposedly endorsed by God?!? I mean come on! Any rational person who believes in God, can't seriously read the Bible and say "Yes, I believe that this is the true word of God" According to the Bible, God is an insecure jerk that gets off on making people do horrible things to appease him. That's mostly in the Old Testament though, Jesus' message was much more compassionate, but allot of Christians overlook allot of his teachings for OT teachings that they like better (e.g. eye for an eye vs. turn the other cheek.)

I've read it quite a bit in my past. I am not against the bible I just don't believe it to be the word of god since it was written by man and I don't take it literally.

I've read most of the new testament and about half of the old testament. If you're just starting out I recomend the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts. You really get a feel for who Jesus was and what He is about.

It is ashamed people do not read the bible with an attitude of trying to prove it true. Many people already have their mind made up that it is false. Sad don't you think?
