I have had two of four babies come early (one 3 weeks one 2 weeks) and both ended up in the NICU. Not a fun place. Do not try and have your babies come early.

Now, if you are overdue, or the baby is ready to come, Castor Oil does work. It will ONLY work though if the baby is ready to come. My first child was overdue a few days, a nurse midwife gave me the following recipe.

2 TBS Castor Oil
8 Oz Orange Juice
Dashes of Cinnamon

The orange juice and cinnamon just make it tolerable to drink!

This combination started contractions and kept them going (as my uterus would get tired and quit every night) BUT IT WAS NOT FUN RUNNING TO THE BATHROOM WHILE IN LABOR!

What you SHOULD do is be patient.

I know these last weeks are hard, but really, it isn't that long to wait and your baby will grow stronger each day that s/he is inside you. Babies are also MUCH easier to take care of when you are still PG. ;-)

Go get a massage or have a chiropractic adjustment. This will help to balance your body and make you more comfortable. This will hopefully make labor easier when it comes. Having massages on a regular basis can also help you learn to relax for labor.

Go get a hair cut, get your nails done, etc. Do something to pamper YOU that you won't have time for in the first weeks after baby arrives.

I promise you that your body and your baby will know when it is time. ALL babies DO eventually come out.

I am a mother of five and the baby will come when they are ready don't rush it. I was two weeks over with my first three. I had my twins a month early and my son had respiratory distress. My Doctor explained that boys born at or before 37 weeks usually have respiratory distress there lungs don't develop as fast as girls. His twin sister was smaller then him and just fine not a problem. Your body will know when your little one is ready to come into the world don't rush it. I wish you the best for you and your little one.

A lot of women at the end of their pregancy are tired and uncomfortable and want to induce labor before their body or the baby is ready. You only have a few weeks to go...let it happen naturally. Enjoy your time, sleep as much as you want, eat warm meals...because when the baby is here...you won't have any time for your self, your sleep will be awful, you won't have another warm meal for a while!! You will have to tend to the baby and your food will get cold...

Sorry, the sex thing has been proven to be inaccurate. The only thing I've consistently heard that helps is walking. Your dr. probably won't induce you until about a week after your due date, at the earliest unless there's a medical reason too.

you can try having sex alot and allowing the sperm to stay inside! Or you can talk to your doc about a planned c setion (not recomended by me) or you can ask about being induced. Other then that you been waiting 37 weeks so far another few days/weeks shouldn't be anything!

If you are not in labor yet, then you are not ready. But try walking, that spurred me along, but I was just past my due date. Spicy food may help too. But before you do anything, talk to a doctor.

Walking is the best thing you can do. I have heard the having an orgasim can induce labor but not sure if that's true. Good luck to you!

there is really nothing you can do except for talk to your doctor and see if the can induce labor.. but if they don't think it would be safe for either you or the baby than you just have to sit back and let nature take its course..

I wonder why you want to have your baby sooner? it's not done "cooking" yet.

But here are some things you can do:
Have a lot of $eX, go on very bumpy rides, do strenious exercises such as heavy lifting, stimulate that baby a lot.
