First of all, He didn't say he would "take back" 144,000 people. These people are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel(with Dan and Ephraim subbed for by Joseph and Benjamin, but that's another story.) suddenly ordained by God to preach the Gospel to the remnant of sinners left behind during the Tribulation period occurring after the Rapture.
Second, all I can say about "religion" as a whole is that someone, somewhere IS wrong because the Scripture says that there is "ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all who is above all, through all and in you all." I cannot judge and say who's right or wrong, but I can say that religion is what is wrong with salvation and getting to Heaven in the first place! Religion is MAN'S view of God, taking the parts of the Word that they can easily reconcile unto themselves and live by, eliminating the hard things that they can't or won't live by and allegorizing them away into something that no one can understand, putting it into a kind of "box", and calling it God or God's will and etc.

NO where in the scriptures does it say that Jesus takes back only 144,000. Now the Jehovah Witness believe this, however they are wrong. The 144,000 spoken in Revelation are in fact the Jewish men who are NOT married, they will be the men from the 12 tribes of Israel; 12,000 from each tribe. They will go out and witness to all who will hear.
Actually Christianity is not 2000 years old, it was formed then due to the following of Jesus Christ. But, Christianity goes all the way back to the beginning of the earth's form when God made man. It was not called that, but since Jesus is the beginning and the end... Christianity has been around forever... for it means Christ like.
Without faith all work is dead!!! Whether you like to hear it or not... faith is a major part of the belief system in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. :o) You will learn that if you ever decide to study the Bible.

Dear mike6733,
You have made some excellent observations. I do not think I can answer all the points you have made here, but let see what we can find out. First, the numbers in the Bible have meaning just as the words do. If we remember that Christ spole in parables, and Christ (God) is the author of the Bible (He used men as secretaries), we will get some understanding. Also the Bible also tells us that we must compare spiritual things with spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13). So when we exam the numbers in the Bible, we have to see how God uses that number throughout the entire Bible. The number 3 means the purpose or will of God. Remember in the Garden of Gethsemenae (before Christ's crucifiction on the cross), He was throwing Himself to the ground and crying, if it is poosible Father let this cup pass from me but now my will but Thine be done. He did this three times but the Father never removed the cup (the cup of God's wrath) because it was God's will that Jesus drink the cup to pay for those whom God had chosen to salvation. Remember there were 3 crooses-the two thieves and Jesus. It was God's will that Christ be numbered with the transgressors-He became sin for us that we might be made partakeers of His righteousness. The number five means either slavation of damantion. Remember that David picked 5 smooth stones when he was fighting Goliath? I am trying to demonstrate to you that all the numbers in the Bible have spiritual meaning. The number 144000 can be broken down into 12 X 12 X 1000. The number 12 has the meaning complete fulness so in the reference of the 144000, this is referring to all those who would be saved during the church age. This is not a litoral number but a metaphor referring to all those who would be saved during the time of the church. Incidentally, the church age ended in 1988.
Concerning other religions, well let us just look at "Christianity". You have the baptists, the methodists, the lutherans, the catholics, the presbyterians, the mormons, the seventh-day adventists etc. Now if they all have the same Bible, why doi they all differ in respect to their beliefs about baptism, salvation, Lor's supper, return of Christ? At best one is right and the rest are wrong or maybe all of them are wrong!! Remember that man is spiritually dead in sins and trespasses (Ephesians 2:1-3). So if man is spiritually dead, how can he even understand or obey the Bible-the word of God? He cannot! God is the only One who can give man life ie., born-again.
As I said, I do not have room to answer your question but check out this website: www.familyradio.com. Everything is free by the way. The 144000 are from the many tribes of Israel, Jews are going to come to the knowledge that Jesus is the Messiah and they will be saved along with the other billions that will accept Jesus as their Savior.
The reason there are many god (small "G") is because we have this thing called free will and we choose to believe that there are other gods. Look at how many people follow an image when it appears on a tortilla or a wall or on a tree.
Before the flood (Noah's Ark) God gave the people 120+ years to repent thousand of years after God sent His Son so that we may believe its bee 2000 years since GOD sent his Son to bring us the truth and we still don't believe. What is wrong with us...your answer is, we have been deceived by other religions and false gods and soon we will be completely separated from God and we will burn in hell if we do not repent.
I hope your not lost and He is your Lord and Savior.

You need to pay attention when reading Revelation. It does not say he'll take back only 144,000. It says that 144,000, 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, all undefiled by women, will be marked with the seal of God, to protect them from the nasty locust thingy's, and to go out and spread the word of God to the world before its too late. These guys are like messengers, but they most certainly aren't the only ones who will go to heaven.
Also, do your research, Mohammed came after Jesus by a few hundred years, so we're certainly not the youngest religion, not to mention that christianity came from judism, its just that christians believe Jesus to be the son of God, so hey, guess what? Not a different God at all, the one and only God.
The muslim's Allah is suppose to be the same God, but he's way crueler than the one true God, very into slaughter, murder, etc., and had a supposed prophet named Mohammed, who wasn't exactly a good example of a prophet.
The only other religion you mention is Buddah, and I don't know much about Buddah at all, so that probably is a completely different diety.

First of all Christianity contains the Jewish Torah or Old Testament.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Christians believe in God the same as Jews.
Next in Revaltions Jesus does not tell John that He will only take 144,000 to Heaven, you are misquoting, He will have 144,000 witness to the world in the Great Tribulation. If you continue to read Revalations you will see a "great multitude from every tribe, nation, and tongue" to many to count meaning every believer who has accepted Christ as their Savior.
Jehovah's Witness' (the one's who believe only 144,000 will go to Heaven) are a cult my friend.
Find Jesus and read the Word and understand the context within.

One must not assume that only 144,000 people will be saved.
That group goes to heaven to work with Jesus in his government (kingdom).
Revelation says they will be kings, priests and judges.
Who will they be kings over?
Who will they be priests for?
Who will they judge?
Answer:
All the millions who have been saved and will live on earth turned into a veritable paradise.
John 10:16 is an oblique hint about them.
And you're right, somebody is wrong.
However, old does not mean better.
The age of a religion says nothing about it accurately representing truth.

Christianity, Muslims, hindus, Budhists, or Sikhs, God is one
Read the following example
THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBER
They tell the story of a mountain climber, who desperate to conquer the Aconcagua, initiated his climb after years of preparation. But he wanted the glory to himself, therefore, he went up alone. He started climbing and soon it was getting later... and later. He did not prepare for camping but decided to keep on going. Then it got dark ... Night fell with heaviness at a very high altitude.Visibility was zero. Everything was black. There was no moon, and the stars were
covered by clouds. As he was climbing a ridge at about 100 meters from the top, he slipped and fell. Falling rapidly he could only see blotches of darkness that passed. He felt a terrible
sensation of being sucked in by gravity. He kept falling ... and in those anguishing moments
good and bad memories passed through his mind. He thought certainly he would die.But then he felt a jolt that almost tore him in half.Yes!!! Like any good mountain climber he had staked himself with a long rope tied to his waist. In those moments of stillness, suspended in the air he had no other choice but to shout, "HELP ME, GOD! HELP ME!"All of a sudden he heard a deep voice from heaven:
"What do you want me to do?"
"SAVE ME!"
"Do you REALLY think that I can save you?"
"OF COURSE, MY GOD"
"Then cut the rope that is holding you up."
There was another moment of silence and stillness.
The man just held tighter to the rope.
The rescue team says that the next day they found a frozen mountain climber hanging strongly to a rope ...TWO FEET OFF THE GROUND.
How about you?How trusting are you in that rope? Why don't you let it go?I tell you, God has great and marvelous things for you.
CUT THE ROPE AND SIMPLY TRUST IN HIM ...

See, I think that assumption is a misconception of what Jesus meant. He said: "lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age". He also said that he would send the holy spirit. That signifies a permanent presence for guidance. The religious nutcases would have all believe that he is coming back again --- period. This may at some point become fact. But perhaps, He is already here among us and IN (some of) us?

Christianity is only 2000 years old... but God is eternal. Adam and Eve believed in the one true living God. Christs God. So, God is not a religion. But if he were... he would be the beginning.
