If you are depressed at the moment some of the following symptoms may sound familiar:
You feel miserable and sad.
You feel exhausted a lot of the time with no energy .
You feel as if even the smallest tasks are sometimes impossible.
You seldom enjoy the things that you used to enjoy-you may be off sex or food or may 'comfort eat' to excess.
You feel very anxious sometimes.
You don't want to see people or are scared to be left alone. Social activity may feel hard or impossible.
You find it difficult to think clearly.
You feel like a failure and/or feel guilty a lot of the time.
You feel a burden to others.
You sometimes feel that life isn't worth living.
You can see no future. There is a loss of hope. You feel all you've ever done is make mistakes and that's all that you ever will do.
You feel irritable or angry more than usual.
You feel you have no confidence.
You spend a lot of time thinking about what has gone wrong, what will go wrong or what is wrong about yourself as a person. You may also feel guilty sometimes about being critical of others (or even thinking critically about them).
You feel that life is unfair.
You have difficulty sleeping or wake up very early in the morning and can't sleep again. You seem to dream all night long and sometimes have disturbing dreams.
You feel that life has/is 'passing you by.'
You may have physical aches and pains which appear to have no physical cause, such as back pain.
If you are feeling any of these symptoms go talk to your doctor.

good statements so far...i like the one with "drinking vitamins", because taking pills or medicine - even going to the doctor and taking blood tests - mostly just makes you THINK you do something good for your health, and that's exactly the thing: Use your imagination, question everything that is related to your fatigue or at least try to find out if there's something else that seems abnormal. when you get mad at your boy friend, maybe you're "tired" of him and the relationship? Try to analyze your dreams, if you can remember them. Listen to your body, maybe it really needs just a better alimentation or balanced diet - "You are what you eat."
And always remember: "Whether you THINK you can do something or you THINK you can't, you're right!" (Henry Ford)
What you have is not necessarily an illness, everybody gets depressed from time to time, you just gotta find out why in order to take care of the problem.
If you tried everything and nothing works: SEE A DOCTOR!

That is a sign of depression. You don't want to do anything that you would normally do. You may feel empty, worhless, have thoughts of death and suicide, depression sucks. I was diagnosed with bi polar, borderline personallity disorder, impulsive control disorder, and ocd. I hope you find the help you need, I didn't for the first 5 years and I am 18 and just getting the help I need.

Depression is serious and can be treated with simple medications. See a doctor who can ask/rate your symptoms.
Change in sleep
Change in appetite
changes in mood (crying/sadness/elation)
Changes in weight
Thoughts of suicide/homicide
Most importantly if you are experiencing these things you need to be evaluated for other conditions which can cause these symptoms like anemia/thyroid.
Don't hesitate to talk with a doctor because the drugs are helpful and can really make life more tolerable (and that boyfriend too)

It could be, but not necessarily. There could be something physically wrong that is making you tired and irritable. And if you are tired and irritable much of the time, that could be depressing by itself.
A visit to the doctor is called for.

It very well could be that you are experiencing a bit of depression. What you have to access is is your present surrounding stressful and if so you could be experiencing depression. I would suggest trying to vent to someone or maybe even writing in a journal (this method is amazing) and see how this works for you. Dont get discouraged just stay positive and try to get your self grounded and ready undertake life again.

That is one sign - but a bigger sign is that you don't take pleasure in any of the activities you use to - eating, sleeping, going to the movies, jumping rope, having sex, whatever you used to love to do just seems pale and empty now.
If you are just tired and sleepy all the time, it might be the sign of another, different illness.

You sound like me actually, my bf jokes with me and I dont laugh anymore, I just get annoyed or irritable. I dont want to go out anymore either, just laze around the house...I dont want to go out in public either....
You should talk to your doctor about this, you should also explain to your poor bf that something is wrong with you and you need help and support and that you don't try to be mean to him, you just can't help it. Or maybe....the passion's gone between you and him and he's just being annoying! But really, you should talk to a doctor you're comfortable with about all the feelings/symptoms you have.

Being tired all of the time can be a symptom of many things including depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc...
I, myself, have the same problem as you (getting easily mad)...so far, my doctor has told me that it stems from me having a lot anxiety.

It could be a sign of depression. If you aren't doing the things you would normally do then it's time to have a little counseling session to get to the root of you feeling down.
Life isn't meant to be easy, but it's manageble!
