Listen for a while as if you are trying to understand them and suddenly ask them some question that pleases them or say something that may annoy them. If the person stops for even a few seconds, you can make out that he is in his senses. just pouring drama. If he doesn;t care or react for your remark, the person is legitimately mad.

When someone is legitimaly mad you just know. It is very easy to notice this things when you know a person because their tone is different and their afterward reaction is completely different. If they get over their madness in minutes it was probably just drama but if they stay mad for at least a day it was true anger.

You would have to know someone extremely well and notice how they are when something is really wrong. Also, sometimes joking can quell drama but never pure anger.

When people are mad they tend to pour on the drama. its called hippie parents. we all have them.
