Tiday Cats Crystals are best. It's unscented, and made of silica gel crystals. It's super absorbant, and dries out and traps all the moisture and odors from urine and feces. It's more expensive, but it lasts longer, and your house won't smell like a litter box. We had a cat that litterally stunk up the entire house every time she would take a dump (it smelled like she was rotting inside, although I knew she wasn't). Once we switched to the Tiday Cats Crystals, it was MUCH better. I'd have to say it cut the odor by at least 90%. Speaking of litter boxes, we just use a normal one. The Tidy Cats Crystals doesn't track, and isn't as messy as regular litter. Once you use a silica gel crystal cat litter, you won't want to use regular litter ever again.

I have a covered litter box for my 2 year old female and my 4 month old male kitty. I have used Fresh Step Clay cat litter for over two years and have never had any kind of problem with either of my cats using the bathroom. They like it and I'm glad they like it. I don't like any of the other types because they tend to feel more like sand then cat litter and I don't want that kind of sandy cat litter all in my carpet. obviously Fresh Step has bigger chuncks then most brands and it is made with an odor control. many, many, many people say that when you bring a new kitten into a home that already has a resident cat living there, then you absolutly need another litter box. THAT'S NOT TRUE! not in my home anyways. my older cat doesn't care and my vet told me that's its the kind of litter I buy for her (I think it's just because she's such a great cat). I like using that cat litter and would recommend it to anyone. I will never use any other brand. Hope I Helped! Good Luck! ^-^

Tidy Cat - long lasting odor control. Not sure what a litter maid is - sounds like an automated litter box. I recommend just doing it yourself with a hand-rake. It's simple and fast and won't scare your cat.

I agree with those who say to use a high rim plastic liter box, one with a lid, instead of the automatic one. That would be a great start. We have been getting Swheat Scoop liter that is made from wheat and is 100% safe to flush because it is natural. It clumps like normal liter, but smells great, not like the others liters with that strong smell, plus it does a great job of covering odors. Mix in a little baking soda for insurance and you have a great liter box, that doesn't smell. It is a little more expensive than regular liter, but you can change it less frequently, about once a month. We have tried several other kinds and have found this one to be the best.

In my opinion, the best for your buck is the PetSmart brand "Exquisicat." It comes in scented and unscented, I've found it to clump better than the name brands, and it really controls odor well. Plus it's cheap and always on sale! I have a friend who has bred Persian cats for over 20 years and this is her favorite litter as well. My cat uses an old rubbermaid tote for a litterbox. He's huge and the boxes they sell commercially are too small for him to be comfy in. Also, it keeps the dogs out :).

I surely have diverse cats, so at all of us time I surely have rather a tremendous kind of kitty muddle reachable, and function diverse muddle packing boxes. i for my section furnish 3 diverse clumping litters. Arm and Hammer, Scoop way and Tidy Cat (crimson label). Tidy Cat is one in each of the single my cats to through the most. Why? It supplies them concepts, and that i take advantage of coupons. i have not used non-clumping muddle for a lengthy time period. a number of my cats look to coach a decision for one over the different. i do not mix the muddle.

I have a covered litterbox, for the main reason my cats would jump in and out of the litterbox and keep digging and making litter go everywhere and with the covered one not as much gets out. I use tidy cat scoopable that I get at sams club.

Super Scoop. Definitely.

Unless you like digging through a litter box and making a gross mess....go with clumping litter.

That depends on your cat. Some cats won't use scented litter, some will. Some cats are scared by the moving litter boxes, some are fascinated.

cats prefer non-scented clumping litter, I use Pestell with Baking Soda - works great!!!

automatic litter boxes often frighten cats PLUS because you dont scoop it yourself you will not notice any stool changes which often is the first sign of sickness....
Use a high rim plastic litter box
