The reason for changing is to ensure that predominantly white states are not all given first go. What might be a better solution?

Every state should have their primary on the same day.

That way, we don't have one or two states deciding who the rest of the states are allowed to vote for.

I think it's a great idea. It would really help assure that the majority of Americans get their votes heard.
However, selfishly, I hope that SC is still pretty high up on the list. Primary season here is the best thing we've got going - everyone visits, we have debates, and if you're so inclined, you can meet just about every Democrat running for president.

What a lame excuse. Suck it up and let teeny NH have their moment in the sun once every four years.

What does white have to do with a primary? Only people registered in that party can vote, so it isn't like stereotypical "rich white" republicans can alter the outcome.

Every state should vote on the same day. It's only fair. By the time my state votes, it's down to one candidate so no one even goes to the polls.
