Does Any One know about The MOS 97E Human Intel collector thats what I signed up to be.?

I signed to be Human Intel Collector I ship out To BCT On Sep.13 Does anyone know what the job is going to be like and What I might expect to have to do. If You had the same MOS I would appreciate some feedback. WOuld also like to know if you know anyone who has had that MOS.

First of all, please ignore any derogatory comments about the job you chose. Know that it's an admirable decision that you've made and be proud of it. We've been in for 18 years and don't regret any of it.

97E -- Human Intelligence Collector
Major duties. The Human Intelligence Collector (HUMINT Collector) supervises and conducts tactical HUMINT collection operations that include, but are not limited to, debriefings, interrogations and elicitations in English and foreign languages for positive intelligence and force protection information; screens Human Intelligence (HUMINT) sources and documents to establish priorities for exploitation; under CI supervision, plans and participates in counterintelligence and Force Protection Operations (CFSO). Translates and exploits captured enemy documents, foreign language and open source publications. Prepares and edits appropriate intelligence and administrative reports; utilizes CI/HUMINT reporting and communications equipment; uses interpreters and manages interpreter/translator operations; conducts liaison and coordination in foreign language with host nation agencies; conducts analysis and performs briefings as required.

I worked with several HET guys out in Iraq, and they worked long and inconvenient hours. However, since you are a female, it is likely that you will not be deployed to a combat zone to employ your skills (the Human Intel skills), although you could be deployed and do something altogether different.

You will be a military interrogator, like the ones used in Abu Graibe prison, torturing citizens from other countries, most likely Iraq, to get them to admit to anything just to stop the pain. I know one such interrogator personally, who was taught that torture is unreliable as a means of getting confessions, because a person will say anything just to stop the torture, because they cant stand the pain anymore. Hope you aren't planning on getting to heaven, because what you do for the military will exclude you from going.
