We are living in the end times. Jesus is coming very soon. Daniel 12:4, matthew 24,.... so on. Also there are people who have been chosen by God as eyewitnesses and are sent to tell the world that the end is very near. You can find these books easily at your local Christian bookstore or Internet. Jesus is the Truth. Read your bible. :-) God Bless.

I'll trust that you asked your question in sincerity.

The word "world" in the bible is often a mistranslation of the Koine Greek word "Aion". The Greek Word "Aion" means the same thing as the english word "eon" derived from it. It is a period of time, not the planet we live on.

Four ages are appointed to this universe. We are currently in the third age, so the world is not about to end. There's probably another 2,000 years or so until the end.

What is coming to an end is this age.

In answer to your question, yes, the end of the age is near. For reasons too lengthy to outline here, I'm looking to November 5 as the chronological end of this age.

You listed 5 criterion that you felt might be indicators that we are approaching the end of the age. Global warming, wars, diseases, starvation and the way people treat on another.

Three of these five are not reliable indicators that the end of this age is near. Global warming is a hoax. The earth has a cyclical climate because of an unstable wobble. It gets warm for a few generations and it gets cool for a few generations. It's a physical phenomenon, not an end-times indicator.
War and starvation also have their causes. These include the abandonment of morality, over-dense population in urban areas, etc.

Though disease in and of itself is not a last-days indicator, biologic warfare is hinted at in Revelation 6:8, so when muslim terrorists begin using anthrax, ebola or some other biologic weapon, you can be certain of our precise position in prophecy.

The way people treat each other is also a symptom of the end of this age. Here's the verse:

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim 3:1-7 KJV

Now may be a good time to buy earthquake insurance as the next item on the prophetic calendar is a "great earthquake" (Rev 6:12).

The hyperlink in the source block below is a book about the end of this age.

Hope this helps.

Nothing you mentioned is new. It has all happened before and never led to the end of the world. Just because you were not alive to experience it then, that does not mean that this time is special.

In the Middle Ages, there was something called the Little Ice Age. Global temperatures dropped, causing crop failures and mass starvation. Was that the end of the world? No.

Wars, diseases, starvation, and people treating each other like **** is the normal state of affairs. Despite that, the world has existed for millennia. In all likelihood, it will continue to exist for millennia more.

Everything will die at some point and the earth just like humans have a spirit animating it, the earth has animated the planet earth for over 4.5 billion years and is set to expire and move on to greater experiences Dec. 21, 2012, all life on this planet will be exterminated before that time by way of what is called a wild card event. No physical body can exist without a power source animating it. Most people who know of this date would like to believe that we will be transformed into something different and better, but that's wishful thinking, I choose to go with the end of the game scenario, which makes much more sense. Being a realist and knowing that we are eternal beings no big deal if you truly know this. Just like we use our bodies for the gaming experience so does the spirit that animates the earth and all other lower creatures on it. Check out the Ancient Mayans about their calender.

No. People have been treating each other badly for ever since there was more than one person. Wars have existed from almost the beginning of Mankind. Disease were much more devastating in the past than they are now. The Black Death wiped out over half the population of Europe and Asia in the 14th century. There also have been starving people since the beginning of man. Finally, the Earth has gone through warming and cooling epochs for millions of years.

I would recommend you learn a little more about the world. Even in the bible most of these things are pointed out. You are just describing the basic factors of human existence.

Not yet. I believe the bible...and the bible tells us certain things must happen first. All the things you list above, the bible describes as "birth pangs"....signs of the end times. There will be a new heaven and a new earth one day. All things will be put right when Jesus Christ comes to rule and reign.

But before that, things are going to get much worse. I don't mean to bring doom and gloom to your question, but it's the truth. Much...much worse. Please be careful about your choice, consider carefully who you say Jesus Christ is. Only those who side with Him will be saved from this destruction to come. I'm sorry if I sound dramatic, I don't mean to.

It's supposed to be a warning from a friend, not a threat.

It seems as if the world is headed that way. With the war between Israel and Hezbollah seems to be lining up with the prophecies in Ezekial 36-39.
According to Ezekiel, the anti-Israel coalition will include:

* Russia and former Soviet states (what Ezekiel called Magog, Rosh, Meshech and Tubal)
* Iran (Persia)
* Sudan and Ethiopia (Cush)
* Libya, Tunisia and Algeria (Put)
* Turkey (Gomer) (keep your eye on Turkey as they are changing their alignment)
* Syria, Lebanon, possibly Jordan ("many peoples with you" including those along the "mountains of Israel")
* Central Asian Islamic republics (Beth Togarmah)
Notably absent from Ezekiel's coalition are Egypt and Iraq. Interestingly enough, Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. Iraq is currently bogged down with its own troubles and would be in no position to participate in a war against Israel for many years to come.

People throughout history have believed the world was about to end. There are always wars and disasters. We should do everything we can to prevent and prepare for disasters, but it's not literally the end of the world.

Not the earth, but the world of ungodly people will be done away with. The earth will last forever just as Ecclesiastes 1:4 says: " Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever." (NIV) Also the meek will inherit the earth. Psalms 37:9-11 says: "For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."(KJV)

We are in what the Bible calls the "last days" The apostle Paul describes those days at 2 Timothy 3:1-5_"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. " (NIV)

Can you see all of those things in full force today? Mankind is in a state of turmoil. Wickedness is everywhere.The majority of people today seem to have no sense of right or wrong and have no love for their neighbors. Only God can undo all the injustice we see all around us and this he has promised to do and very soon.
Satans time is running out. Continue to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for his will to be done on earth and it will surely take place.
