I really like those 1995 Toyota pickups with the larger wheels and since I need a car that will get me up to the mountains ( i'm a snowboarder) and because i'm an out doors person who does lots of out door activitys i'm figuring a truck would be perfect for me. Does anyone know much about those?

For your needs, a truch would be perfect, and yes, Toyota trucks get better mileage than most trucks.

In a word, yes but not for what you want to do
If you wanted the most efficent (gas wise) vehicle for getting you, a friend, and snow boards up mountains, you would probably be better off in a small SUV
A truck would only get good gas mileage if it were 2 wheel drive and not carrying a heavy load
What sounds best for you would be a smaller SUV
RAV-4, Honda Element, and Ford Escape are your best choices
All are good daily drivers, comfort, reliability, fuel economy
Used Escapes are rather reasonable, even with front wheel drive only, they handle snowy roads good
Avoid Chevy Geo Tracker, they rust quickly

Maybe the 4 cylinder engine gets good gas mileage but it is horrendous on a 6 cylinder engine considering the size of the truck. Other than that they seem to be very well made trucks.

I'd go with the Chevrolet Colorado or 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, both get over 20 mpg; if you really look like your Yahoo Cartoon Picture, you are HOT.

I have a 1994 and a 1989, both 2wd. You will get much better mileage if it is fuel injected. Fuel mileage and acceleration are both pretty bad with a 4wd.

Go for the Highlander with the V6. You can haul more of your friends
(you HAVE friends, right?) without being so crowded like in a truck.
