There actually twin 5 year olds. I used to babysit them, and haven't seen them in a while, but I wanted to do something for them.

I'm a big fan of anything that sparks creativity. Five year olds LOVE to show off their creative talent. How about some coloring books and crayons... or some play-doe or clay? Those things are pretty cheap, so you could get a lot of them and really impress the heck out of the kids.

5 Year olds are pretty easy to buy for. You could get them a game like Candy land. Or depending on if it is a girl or boy. An action figure that is popular right now or a barbie doll. If you have a dollar store around were you live check it out. You can find some really great toys that will fit in with what you want to spend.
It is really nice that you think enough of them to get a gift. Good luck.

If you don't want to spend a lot, art supplies would be a great gift. As a parent I really appreciate when my kids get that kind of stuff because they use it up so fast. This is a good time of year to find this kind of stuff on sale too, with all the back to school sales going on.

glue sticks
construction paper
stickers
pipe cleaners
markers
crayons
colored pencils
clay
playdough
sketch pads
paints
watercolor paper

For boys, I'd get superhero stuff....Superman, Spiderman, Star Wars, X-Men, Power Rangers or dinosaurs.

For girls, Polly Pocket/Fashion Polly, Barbie Mermaidia or Fairytopia.

For either gender, Crayola Sidewalk Paint.

Mom to daughter, almost 8 & son, almost four. Attends too many b-day parties

Little kids really don't play with toys for very long. I would get them little "cheap toys that they will have fun with for a while. Like my little sister use to love bubbles. You can get those for about 99cents. Also, little balls and things are also cheap. Maybe a book or something that they could look at the picures. If you go to the dollar store, I know it's cheap, but you could get them lots of little things for them and in your price range. Plus, they'll like lots of things, especially if you wrap them all individually.

at maximum drugstores you will possibly desire to purchase kits via coloration institute, which are available in a container with applicators, 4 lipsticks, glosses, blushes, 12 eye shadows, and commonly some nail polish shades too, and that they vary from 15 to 35 money commonly.. They arn't high quality makeup, yet good sufficient for little little ones to play with. accessible by sears on line and probable ebay too.

Mabye a base ball set, or some cloths or some toys. My brother is five and he loves playing viedo games, so ask thier mom or dad if they have an X-Box or something like that and buy them a vedio game, like over the hedge. It they are girls then get them barbies or somthingy girly like that.

I agree with getting them a gift card to a toy store or another favorite store (ask their parents for a hint). It will make them feel like grown ups to pick out their own gifts! Good Luck :)

5 year olds love art supplies--just make sure they are washable. You can get them construction paper-crayons-paints-chalk anything like that. And at only 2 or 3 dollars a opo you can get them "multiple"gifts for 15 dollars.
