I am here for exactly the same reason you are. to show the love of Jesus Christ for us sinners. I also would like for non-christians to realize that we are only human and sometimes HOW we react when we mess up is more important than the mess upl

It is unfortunate that too many of the "discussions" degrade to two line "Its all a lie" for their side and "You're going to fry" from ours. Would be nice of both sides (or at least our Christian side) would keep their months closed (no insult intended) if the only comment they have is an insult.
We already know most of the people who are on everyday doing nothing but trying to badger and get a "rise" out of the Christians. So ignore them. And lets see if we can do something constructive for the ones asking serious questions instead.
That's what we're here for.
(Good posting)

Look, by bashing your fellow Christians you are not really making your point clear to anyone but Athiests. You are making it look like you need to reprimand others. Take my advice. Mind your own business and let everyone answer in their own way. You answer how you like to answer and everyone else will do the same. You don't know how and why each person asks and answers questions the way they do. Usually it's from their own personal experience. Christians are humans too and can also get upset at being mocked, ridiculed and put down. If you are going to get onto one group of people then get on the rest as well. You don't sound like a fellow Christian.. you almost sound like a Athiest pretending to be Christian.
Look, you aren't going to get anyone to believe what you say on yahoo answers without being just as firm with them as they are with you. Athiests as well as many others can get pretty harsh on here. Try reading more of the questions and you'll see that Christians have to put up with just as much crap and it gets old fast.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Just because this isn't an area that you struggle in.. doesn't mean that you have to go about it like this. If you recognize one specific person doing this... next time, instead of posting a huge opinion disguised as a question, contact them personally. Be more discreet. Because with you calling yourself a Christian addressing Christians you are talking like some sort of spokesperson for us. I don't know about anyone else... but I can speak for myself. I find this "question" very rude.

I think people find a need to defend thier beliefs and it's a shame. I completely agree with you, however I don't feel a need to push people to salvation at all. Lead by example and if others around you see you in a state of happiness and enjoyment 99% of the time, they are bound to ask your secret.

I'm on here for strictly nonreligious reasons...
I just like trivia and enjoy discovering how much more intelligent I am compared to everyone else out there in cyber-land.
I consider myself a Christian but I don't proselytize. It's a waste of time to try to change a faceless internet junkie's mind.
Conversion only works on the willing!

To answer questions. It is called "yahoo answers" afterall. If you humiliate someone in the process, well, stuff happens...
Rather than placing the burder of being evangelical on people for their answers, why don't you address your criticism towards the racist, stupid, insulting, and inflamitory questions that are asked?
Personally, I think Christ would be on the ground rolling around laughing at some of these questions...

Well, I am an agnostic but I pretty much agree with you. One of the reasons why I am not a Christian any longer is the pushiness and hypocritcal attitudes I've witnessed from Christians in the past.
I don't want to be a Christian anymore but if someone else wants to be a Christian, that's fine. As long as they don't bug me about it or put forth a "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude. My parents are Christians but they are respectful of me and do not argue about religion with me. I am grateful for that.

Well said!.....well, almost. I don't know about you, but I've never successfully "pushed" anyone to do anything.
I don't know if I have any giant motive. I just love people of all kinds, and I love my Jesus. I like to introduce Him to people when I can, in a manner that they can get a glimpse of how cool He really is.

Does this not seem like a contridiction or an usual? Your quote: "...we're PUSHING people to salvation through a loving relationship with Jesus!"
Did Jesus force or "push" people to salvation? Where is the love in that. We cannot force nor "push" to convert any one to accept what "we" believe. In fact, the very person, Jesus said that, "Everyone that has heard from the Father and has learned comes to me.”—John 6:44, 45.
Yes, God draws people to himself and to his Son by means of His “loving-kindness", not us.
(John 6:44) "No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him."
(John 6:65) "So he [Jesus] went on to say: “This is why I have said to YOU, No one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

It is always in respect of the purpose of God ...since the bible also says to be mindful because I may also find myself...in a similar situation..if I am not careful....and that i have experienced because...it is always easy to look down on others while your situation seems ok...but how quickly that can turn around....and then you will be looking for compassion...and you will get what you gave ...maybe none....it falls very much in line with do unto others as you would have them d unto you...God bless
