Grandpa's are so cool to remember. Mine let me do his hair in different styles for hours and then make him look in the mirror at each style, then he took me berry picking and he always would remind me of him carrying me on his back to school in 1st grade. He was grumpy as ever sometimes!

My parents were teens when they had me so we all lived with my granny and grandpa. My grandpa was a WWII vet and a POW. He later had a stroke when I was about 3 and I can remember not understanding why he couldn't move one side of his body. I would sit down with him almost every morning and have eggs and toast. I remember the food running down his chin (because of the stroke) and telling him that he shouldn't eat with his mouth open! LOL He would just smile at me and it made him laugh. And when he would wake up from his naps, I would climb up on his lap and watch tv with him. He always had a shiny coin to give me too. I only had a short time with my grandpa before he passed, and he couldn't do a whole lot, but I just thought he was the best anyway!

I haven't had a Granpa in a very long time, I do however, thank God, have my Grandma. But her husband before he passed away used to buy me raisin bread. This was when I was like 2. I don't know how I remember that but I do remember me saying Gracias Tata Doroteo (Thank you Grandpa Doroteo), and eating the raisin bread. Weird how I just remembered that, thank you!

I remember my Grandpas huge hands and the way he used the grab our shoulders from behind and squeeze, the pancakes that he made for me when I would stay with him(which were awesome), and his smell. He smelt of car oils and gear lube and in general a garage shop because he worked on cars.
Thanks for the question and memory.

My grandpa used to wear bib overalls, smoke a pipe, drink Mad Dog 20/20 and always gave me a bowl of ice cream before bed time. He also made me a wooden swingset. He told lots of jokes and was funny as heck!

Grandpa is still around, he is 82 years old and a simply wonderful man. Kind, caring, quiet - does whatever his family needs. Helps in all ways. He is truly divine! Love him :)

My dad treats all his grandkids the same. He and my mom don't play favorites or play mind games with them either. They don't have much money, but will buy them all and ice cream whenever it's affordable and the truck comes thru the neighborhood, lol.
And yes,he likes to freak out all of them by taking out his teeth and doing his ventriloquist act.
