IF THIS IS TRUE>>>
I agree with her. There are plenty of people to report from war-torn areas. No need for her to risk making her kids orphans. They already lost their father. I think her decision makes her look good...she is no "glory hound".

With her kids having already losing their father it would be in their best interest for her to not go over there. There are plenty of correspondants that are already over there covering. No sense in sending a single mom.

Katie Couric did not say that she would never anchor the CBS Evening News from a global hotspot. She specifically said she would not anchor in the Middle East in its current condition. That doesn't mean that if there is a hurricane, a disaster or another crisis, she won't anchor from there. But she would be making the right decision for herself and her children being that she is a single mom with two kids. It says alot about her character.

I think a woman going into a war-torn middle east is about the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Including 98 percent of the users on this Q&A. If she wants to get beaten and raped, let her go over. Typical WASP, thinks she's impervious to life.

I agree. Katie Couric should not go if she don't want to. There are plenty of jobs out there for her if her employers frown or try to force her to go. Way to go Katie! I think that is great for her to stand up for herself and her children.

If it's really what was said:
I find it amazing that so many people can enjoy the freedoms and especially women ,who demands equal rights and pay ,until the real world slaps them in the face. Lots of people has lost love ones and will continue to loose them in this war. If she don't want to go,find, but be real.

I think it's fine. I'm no Couric fan but her first priority is her children.

She should go. Why should others do her job. They should also paint a target on her as well as fling her over to the other side in a catapult

I do not watch Couric but whatever she decides is hers to own. It is none of our business.
