The answer to your question is a simple yes if u want it to. You have not stated how long u have suffered with this problem however it does sound as though its been for some time. You dont state if ur on any medication or if you suffer panic attacks. if on medication i would strongly advise that under professional guidance u take the weakest medication possible. Should u suffer panic attacks the following method is proven to aleviate panic attacks, is simple and requires no medication though may take a few attempt to get it right so u feel calmer. This method can be done anywhere and all you require is a BROWN paper bag. Take the back when u feel a panic attack coming on and put it around your mouth so it seals your lips. Take a deep breath and try to hold breath to count of 10 or as long as possible. Then exhale slowly still keeping the bag sealed around your mouth, Reapeat the inhale, hold, exhale motions for as long as necessary. When u get the rhymn going correctly u are well on your way. When breathing in u should breath from your diaphram and the breaths should be slow. This method although unconventional dooes work but make sure u begin when u feel a panic attack about to begin , this method can also be used during a panic attack but it is a little harder to breathe slowly.
ANXIETY - This condition is extremely common from mild to debilitating and it is far better to seek help before it becomes debilitating and rules your life.
For every anxiety state there is a root cause. To enable u to function normally the root cause MUST be found and dealt with completely. More often than not if u are not already aware of the root cause it will be something that has happened to you personally and at the time was too painful to deal with so your subconscious mind buried it until something u saw or heard triggered it and it was brought back into your conscious mind. It could be something traumatic that occured during your formative yrs that u either witnessed or occured or something that happened later on in life. You may discover that what u was conviced was the root cause had nothing at all to do with the problem.
I would strongly advise if anxiety has got past the point of being just an inconvenience but has begun to infere with your every day life that u seek counseling preferably on referal by your GP.
Unfortunately the waiting list is long for counseling but your gp should beable to put a good case forward. Please go with one of these options and find the root cause as only then will u be rid of yur anxiety state completely.
May i wish u every success in whatever route you decide to take and all the very best for the future.

I suffer from Panic/Anxiety attacks and I found that they don't go away unless I take medicine for them and since I've been on medication, I've only had 1 slight attack in 9 months which is way better than 3 times a week in the past. See psychiatrist for evaluation and ask for medicine. But a bit of advice, don't dwell on your current state and try to remain calm and relaxed. The medicine will help you but you need to also help yourself to make it work even better. Hang in there and don't dwell on things that get you anxious and the anxiety itself.

Bless your heart! I've been in the same boat. If you can pick out what specifically is hindering you, then you can work toward overcoming your anxiety. For me, it was leaving a particular job situation. Three years now and I'm a different person. You will be too. Hang in there! Good luck!

anxiety can and will go away, you just need to go talk to a Dr and they can help you. Find a friend or a family member that you can talk to and just take a day and relax and talk with them. With help form them, it will get easier and then the Dr can put you on something that will also help. If you want to contact me go ahead, I can talk to you.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Dont take seroxat, the person who said take valium is a liar, don't take any poisons. I mean drugs, take some time off but spend it with people. Don't spend long periods of time on your own and drink loads of water.

Please go ask your doctor for an anti-anxiety medication such as xanax or colonopin. BEWARE ANTI-DEPRESSANTS which sometime have a reverse effect an cause more anxiety!
