Go in the store, all by yourself. Find the biggest bag/box of super-duper Maxi's. Carry them all the way across the store, with nothing else. Find the longest, busiest line with the most people, and wait your turn to pay for them.
I had to do this once, when I was 13. I thought I was going to die.
After that, it seems like nothing. You'll just toss them in the cart and carry on. When you feel "absolutely mortified" once, it never seems like a big deal after that!! I promise...
If you don't want to do that (I would definitely understand!), you could try this: do other shopping first. Have some stuff in your cart or basket already. Then go to that aisle, and pick out the ones you want. Put them in the back of the cart, sort of out of sight. When you go to check out, just treat them like any other item, and put them up there sort of in the middle of everything else.
No one will look and laugh, no one will think or say anything.
On a side note, do you get embarrassed when you buy toilet paper?? I do, but only when I get the HUUGE packs... lol I think it's normal to be a little embarrassed, it's just how you deal with it. Just act cool. ;)

Be bold, be proud, be woman. It is quite natural to be embarassed when you are first beginning to purchase personal products such as pads. But remember you are just tending to a normal bodily function.
Have your mom go with you if possible. Do other shopping at the same time so the pads are just another item. Buy in bulk so you will have less frequent trips for pads. Just act natural and soon it will become natural.
After a while it will be like buying toothpaste, you won't give it a second thought.

what the hell is so embarrasing aboput buying pads. geez. I feel embarrassed buying douches or condoms. lol.
why dont you just go to the store and buy awhole bunch of stuff and just slide that in. I mean what are you scared of..that it won't scan and the cashier will announce on the interphone that she needs a price check on the always pads? Hahahahaha
its nothing to be ashamed of. I always used to use my sisters because i was scared to buy them. My mom always bought them. I even had my dad buy them for me a few time because i was scared. But when you need em...you get em. Don;t feel alone. Every female buys them. If you want to avoid being embarrased. Just make a one trip and buy a box with like 50 pads and you'll be straight for a few months....

i was embarrassed when i first started buying my own pads and tampons... i would go shopping with family, wait til they filled up the cart enough and acted like "ohhh, i forgot to get these... come on" so we'd go over and pick them up and i would bury them so that no one could see...
now, i have realized that it's natural and all girls go through this and you shouldn't be scared or embarrassed! this means you are a woman and you should be proud! no i just run in the store real quick and carry them in my hand to the counter... no one really pays attention to you anyway, everyone is there to shop for things and that is what you just happen to be buying!
Don't be embarrassed, like someone said... just throw them on the counter and be like "BAM! i am a woman..."

Don't feel embarrassed! Think about how many other women are buying pads at the exact same time as you all around the world. And condoms ... and fungicide ... and all kinds of "embarrassing" things.

Just do it. Don't worry about what others think. If you are a woman, this is a natural part of womanhood. Most of the time, others don't pay attention to what's in your cart! So what if you are buying pads or tampons? It's your business and you shouldn't be concerned about what others are thinking!

It's a natural thing. You shouldn't be embarassed, but to help avoid that, buy them when you're buying a number of other things so that you're not just walking up with a box of pads.

I have to agree about not being embarrassed by being pads. Just realize that nine out of ten cashiers aren't even paying attention to what you buy and your embarrassment should ease considerably.

If you get so embarrased, go to a place where they have self check outs. That way you can check out without anyone really knowing what you are buying!
I know Walmarts and Albertsons have self check outs!
Good luck!
P.S you do not need to be shy about this. It is how we were made. You are not the only one who needs pads/tampons, we all do.
