Coffin is correct, even though some have made their own coffins they were not in need of it when they made it.

It is a tombstone, not a coffin.
You should also state that the maker "may" not use it.
People have designed and made their own coffins.
people pre pay for funerals and do pay for their own coffins.
the difference is the death date on a tombstone can't be put until they die.
