"lung cancer symptoms" is the search phrase I used.
A new cough or a cough that does not go away. Smokers who have a chronic cough from smoking may have a change in how severe their cough is or how much they cough.
Chest, shoulder, or back pain that does not go away and often gets worse with deep breathing.
New wheezing.
Shortness of breath.
Hoarseness.
Coughing up blood or bloody mucus.
Swelling in the neck and face.
Difficulty swallowing.
Weight loss and loss of appetite.
Increasing fatigue and weakness.
Recurring respiratory infections, such as pneumonia.
Clubbing of the fingers and toes. The nails appear to bulge out more than normal.
I sincerely hope this question is simply an inquiry, and if you think it's a possibility for you I think it's something you should talk to a doctor about. I'm sure others on answers agree.

The symptoms of lung cancer include:
a chronic cough.
worsening breathlessness.
weight loss.
excessive fatigue.
persistent pain in the chest or elsewhere, (possibly from the cancer spreading to a bone).
symptoms can be due to the original tumour in the lung or to the effects of secondary tumours elsewhere in the body.
one of the most significant symptoms of lung cancer is coughing up blood or haemoptysis. This can sometimes occur as an early warning sign of a cancer which may still be curable. Any person who coughs up blood should see their GP for advice urgently as lung cancer must be considered, particularly if the person is a smoker over the age of 40.

lung cancers are some of the hardest to detect. The lungs don't have nerves that can help you sense normal pain.
But soreness is a very important cancer risk sign. So is coughing up blood or phlegm.
Get at MRI scan or have a doctor perform an XRay ASAP.

Lung cancer tumors can be totally silent meaning they cause no pain or discomfort at all until it spreads to the pleura of the lung or to the bones. Then it becomes extremely painful.

They can, but chest soreness can be caused by hundreds of things.
Flu, Cold, Congestion, Pneumonia, Plurisy, pulled muscle, etc
Jumping straight to the conclusion of Cancer is a little bit of overkill. You'll worry yourself to death that way. Get your behind to a doctor and ask the professionals.
No one can diagnose you from one symptom over the computer, so let your doc be the one to figure out what your problem is.
Good luck.

Don't be scared; just get to the doctor if you're having pains. Waiting won't make anything better, and if it's nothing, wouldn't you like to know so you can get it off your mind!?
Sorry, didn't answer your question... I've heard it can and does hurt.

I don't see why not! anything that doesn't belong in your body and is not a part of you will cause some irritation or even hurt you.
