Where does the water come from, in this dry desert area? If you are suggesting a canal along the Mexican border that would connect the Pacific Ocean with the Gulf of Mexico, and so be filled with seawater, do you have any idea how much that would cost?

Sounds expensive. And illegals can swim. What about the effects to the Rio Grande River?Who's gonna pay for it?If there was a canal there would have to be bridges, more taxpayer money. What if New Orleans gets hit by another hurricane? Will they need more dirt? Will we dig another canal along the Canadian/US border? Why not?
I don't like it,I vote neh!

In theory that might sound like a good idea but not practical. Those wanting in the U.S. wil still get in, they will just swim. Dirt will not stop the Ocean, New Orleans was not hurt as bad as they say but parish number nine and the gulf coast states was. I should know I was down there in November of 2005.

Which border? There is already a River called the Rio Grande between Texan and Mexico.

Are the Canadians now becoming an immigration threat?

Good Idea buddy, and we'll hire illegal immigrants to do the work. as for taking the dirt to New Orleans that's a good idea also. they need to cover that hell hole up anyway. who's bright idea is it to build below sea level anyway?

(I have nothing against New Orleaners, Just don't believe they should be living in an area where you have to look up to see ships go by)

How would you ever get the dirt from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona to New Orleans? Have you ever seen a construction project, it takes alot to move dirt a short distance.

Only if we can put thousands of sharks in it so keep the illegals out. Cause you and I both know that they would swim the canal to get in. So you have to put a deterant in there to keep them out. Or we could keep the water electrified that might keep the illegals out of it. Good idea just needs to be tweaked a little to ensure it would work.

With so much ideas floating around here, we sound like scared people, paralyzed in fear, wringing our hands. Funny you mention New Orleans, many illegals have gone there and are rebuilding New Orleans.

I understand where you are coming from...but..to me the idea is to spend as little tax payer money as possible. I sure wish Mexico would get it together though...I don't think they understand that every American dollar that is sent to Mexico devalues the peso. They are in a catch 22. They think that they are doing themselves good in sending American money there but in reality they are slowly destroying there own country.

So by Angelas reason and thinking if the ILLEGALS are helping rebuild one of OUR cities it is ok for them to be here?

NOT!!!!!!!!
Go rebuild your OWN freaking country and get out of AMERICA.
Damn people would just climb over eachother's backs to cross the water but I like the way you think scotty.
