No one has an instant formula. It is process of you wanting to find so you will continue to seek. Taking time out to know yourself sometimes requires discipline and honesty. Because sometimes when we ask and an answer is given we don't want to accept. In many cases moving from a particular environment helps. Do not argue when some one say " you are.......whatever. It is the impression formed of you that they carry. So it is for you to modify your behaviour or ignore them. Be discipline in time you take out to meditate/pray. Find a worthy cause and get involved only give 99.9%. The 1% stops you from burning out.
Learning about self is a daily process. The more we learn to be conscious the more we become.!!

You can't afford to buy a Mirror???
Self is not an easy question. Some are born with a self awarness
that's downright scary then others are born that will never know much of anything let alone self. Just be glad you have the capacity to think of "self" and get on with life. It should come to you before you're dead. ;-)

My grandfather told me that a man doesn't become "a man" until he reaches 30.
If you're younger then that ... just wait. If you're about age, then you should be growing into your bark pretty soon!
(I have a pure bred German Shepard. He wasn't barking, and I called the breeder to find out why. He said that he was still too young, but soon would be barking, and protecting . . . he just hadn't grown into his bark yet! Now he barks TOO much, can't shut him up!!)

It can take many, many lifetimes to remember who you really are. Who I am is not this body, mind or ego, but a soul, which is a perfect individuation of our source creator. A soul who remembers my true home in the spiritual dimension, where perfection and the energy of pure, unconditional love abounds.

Since you look to be past the Junior High age I would say yes that is normal.
Usually people "find themselves" before they finish college at the latest.
Although, once I got lost on the way to North Carolina...................

a lifetime for some and 10 minutes for other's - it just depends on how open minded you are. some people put their pride, ego or even insecurities in the way of finding themselves - they are usually the one who are less successfull.

What are your core beliefs? Are you authentic? For what purpose do you believe you are here on earth ? Do you know what you think and feel? Are you able to express those things in your life? These are some questions that help me to understand who I am as opposed to who you are. Hope that helps.
Lots of love.

I think that's a fair comment. Sometimes people make 'finding yourself' far too complicated. When the real answers to our questions lie in ourselves and our environment! Peace, my friend.
