Make it fun for them. I took my children to the shop and let them choose their own potty and toilet seat. Then we just left it in the room for them to use as and when. I didn't make a big deal of it, especially with my son as he was adamant he wasn't going to use it! Although, I did have a chart on my fridge for when he did start to use it. Once he used it every day for 5 days, he got a treat (nothing to big though). Also, I let them both choose their very own pants with whichever tv character was their favourite. That really helped as they wanted to keep them dry!! Good luck.

I had the same problem with my little boy, while potty training, and my top tip is to leave her till she decides she is ready to use a potty or the toilet. I agree that you should have a toilet seat but think that you need a potty too. Leave the potty in the room where she plays the most and just sit her on it a couple of times a day and explain for wee wee and number twos, however you decide to phrase them. Them just leave her to get the idea. Too much pushing will turn the whole thing into an pointlessly frustrating time for you both.

I have raised 5 children. You may be trying to potty train them too early. I started the day they were 2 yrs old. I told them they were big now, and big people went on the pottty ( toilet) . They had too tell me or Daddy , It only took 2 weeks for the girls. The boys differed , but took longer. I also put the boys on the toilet backwards so they would not have the fear of falling. Their back ends were supported. My youngest son took the longest, but I soon realized they he thought that part of him was being flushed down the toilet. Also the older children teased him and said they were going to flush him down the toilet , which I am sure scared him. No teasing from anyone when it comes to going to the potty.Good Luck!

Wait till she is ready or you will have a nightmare. If you feel she is taking to long to become ready, then try bribes such as she can have new pants in her favourite children's character. Also don't get angry if she makes a mistake and praise her for every good attempt she has made, really make a big thing of it if she succeeds the first few time as this will encourage her to do it well next time.
Another great tip it to wait till summer because if there are any accidents then the chances are she be wearing less clothes for you to wash.
Again the important thing to remember is don't force her wait till she is ready as just like someone told me it is not like she will be going down the alise in a nappy it will happen when it happens.

I found the best thing to do is wait until they are ready, try the potty every day for 2 or 3 days and encourage a job well done. Be prepared to go through lots of knickers and don't stress. You have to be able to commit whole days to trying. Good luck!

Girls are easier than boys! We introduced the idea of the potty to her and than after a while, we just took the nappies away, I booked a week of work and just kept asking do you need a wee wee? Whenever we went out we took spare clothes, maybe we were just lucky but, we didnt have any accidents whilst we were out although we did at home! After the week, she didnt even wear them for bed!

Don't bother with using a potty, my sons hated them. Buy one of those seats that fit on the toilet and buy a little step and train her directly to use the toilet. It's quicker , easier and my children responded better to this way of toilet training.
