I think you mean torque? and yes, assuming your using right handed connections and turning your drill clockwise.

Hi. Torque is nothing but force times distance. Force is mass times accleration. ie. Torque is directly proportional to the applied force from and also directly proportional to the distance at which the force is being applied to achieve a turning affect.
But as far as your question is concerned torque will be generated by the force applied and the distance would be the radius of the diameter of the rod. What that means is that after getting tightened beyong a critical point of exerting torque , there will be no more effect visible to the eye, ie. energy is transformed from once source to another. In this case energy might be discipiated in the for of heat.
