I mean the sentence is supposed to be eternity but do you think it actually works that way? I would suppose that if you hadn't been spared from Hell within a certain period of time, your soul would be unable to bear it any longer and just will itself to stop existing.

"The soul that sins will die." (Ezekiel 18:20)

Okay first of all you have to understand the previous chapters of Ezekiel. This part is Gods prophecy about the end times. He is giving Ezekiel visions of what is to come so that he can spread the message to Isreal. Once the rapture has taken place there will be a period of time called the Tribulation Period, this will last for 7 years. Prior to the rapture all of those who have accepted the gift of salvation will be taken to heaven, those left behind will still have the opportunity of accepting this gift however it will be a time of chaos and turmoil like the world has never known. If you read on a couple more verses you will come across Ezekiel 18:21-23 where is says... "but a wicked person who turns his back on that life of sin and keeps all my statutes, living a just and righteous life, he'll live, really live. He won't die. I won't keep a list of all the things he did wrong, he will live. Do you think I take any pleasure in the death of wicked men and women? Isn't it my pleasure that the turn around, no longer living wrong, but right- really living?" and then if you read down just a few more verses to 18:32 where he simply says... "get a new heart, a new spirit" God gives us chance after chance to accept him during our life. He warns us of eternity... I hope that answers your question.

God is not going to let anyone out hell. I think that once a person is condemned to hell after they die, God erases the memory of them from his mind, although I'm sure he mourns the eternal separation. The person who ends up in hell is there because they made the wrong choices, not God.

Jesus tells more about the hell than about heaven. All that hell stuff is scary when you believe in Jesus, but it is almost rediculous when you do not believe in Jesus. So I do not think that Jesus wanted to scare people over it, because His words about hell does not bother non-believers. They feel attacked by people, not by Jesus, because they do not believe in Him.

But when you believe in Jesus, it helps us to focus on good teachings of Jesus...because we are aware of the cosequences if we do not honor His ways. As a believer, I think that the fact that I would be separated from Jesus forever is an awefull thought itself. Now when I have Jesus in my life, I do not want it any other way.It is like heaven on earth. I have this JOY. The kind of joy I did not think was possible. I have been Christian my whole life, but I can honestly say that I almost missed. I almost took a wrong route WITHOUT really knowing it. Now when I not only believe but I also have faith in Jesus...my whole life changed...and that is why I long to know Him more.

God loves people so much, that I think that if He tells us what are the consequences and what is going to happen..and we still want to have our own ways...He will let us to have it the way we chose. A lot of good people end up in hell, and they have to be in the same place than really bad people...maybe then they think that they should not have called followers of Jesus as stupid people. While still alive here on the earth, God will make several offers to people to be able to enter to the Kingdom of heaven, so we cannot possibly blame Him if we end up in hell. God uses ordinary people as messengers, and the messengers are telling to people to read the Bible what is the God's manual for our life. It is not that He just sent the book alone! I believe that God do not want lose anybody, and He did not think that anybody in their clear mind would chose the other alternative!

I hate to burst your bubble, but there is no hell. Hell is where we are now. When you die you turn back to the dust in which you came from. The dead are concious of nothing at all. God is a loving God and wouldn't subject us to live in fire. And you are the soul, the soul isn't a spirit creature or anything like that.

God could care less about the people he is torturing forever in hell. Do you think he will give it a second thought. Do you honestly believe that even one heartless christian in heaven will give one thought or shed one tear in all of eternity for those being tortured below the surface of the earth? God and Christians are NOT secular humanist, they simply will not care at all.

It depends on one's interpretation and understanding of hell - is it a physical place of unending torment or is it the permanent separation from God or is it that the soul is permanently extinguished/ceases to exist? And all three of these interpretations are based on the scriptures and are present in Christianity.

People are sent to Hell for all eternity but because God is merciful, he lets them out after they have served half their sentence.

he's Loving and Compassionate like you stated. yet he's likewise only. God gave us free will and gave us understanding of accurate and incorrect and the skill to make rational judgements. If we, understanding that is accurate and that is inaccurate, and what is going to ensue if we make this determination or that, nonetheless bypass ahead and disobey our author, there is no way we may be able to blame God. God shows us paths, accurate and incorrect, and leaves it as a lot as us to make your recommendations up on the right direction. He has already given us the skill to tell apart accurate from incorrect and warned us of His wrath might want to we settle on incorrect. God won't be able to be blamed if we chosen incorrect. As promised, He may punish the sinners and advantages the righteous. that is justice. only someone whose faith is lacking may ***** about his situation and attempt to placed the blame on God instead of making a honest attempt to do good.

No, because God said the smoke of their torment would ascend forever.

Read the followin passage, it is very informative.

Luke 16
19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Revelation 14:11
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

God Bless You.
