Congratulations.... You have already past the first part by knowing when to let go... Time and patience is the only way to get completely over him. It may hurt right now at this very moment, but you will see how much better you will feel by yourself with out being hurt. I would rather be alone and happy, than to be in a miserable relationship and depressed.
Best wishes and good luck

Well I just asked this question day before yesterday. I got a lot of answers and seems like, keeping yourself busy and getting out with friends are good answers. It's hard I'm still crushed and it's only been a few days. But I keep telling myself that My worth doesn't depend upon my relationship to a man. Plus I've kept myself busy with my "projects" and doing things to keep my self-esteem intact. Good Luck, and BE STRONG!

This is from personal experience and you never really get over a person you just kind of move on. You see women love harder than men do (at least that's how I feel) and like someone else said you just have to let time heal those wounds.

You can't make yourself stop caring or get over someone. You have to decide which is worse - being alone or bineg in a relationship thats hurting you.
Take each moment as it comes, and keep busy. Its not about forever - its about being strong second by second. It does get easier - really.

I asked my buddy the same question... 2 yrs after his ex, he sais he doesnt know.... So im not even trying anymore... and Ive had, but everytime I say fukit Im done, I end up passing her on the road, or some other B.S. So my advise is if he is that bad for you, then just stay away, and let time take its course.... That seems to be the only answer I have...

I was in a relationship with a girl that told me straight out it was fine if I bailed. I was so attached. I hurt everyday. It sucked. I'll tell you what, people talk bad about rebounding. It is not so bad. I met a girl that thought I was cute (she was too), but not into a commitment. After I kissed her I forgot all about the dark cloud I was seeing before. Amazing how that works : )
Honestly though it always takes time to heal.

The ones we love forever are the ones that treated us really well, but left us. You will overcome get over someone that has mistreated you on a regular basis. You will realize he is not worth your time or energy and one day you will wonder why you allowed yourself to waste that precious time. However, there was a lesson here that you needed to learn to help you grow and be better for the next relationship.
Not to mention, if you don't let him go, you are robbing yourself of meeting someone really worthy of you.
Hang in there, it will get better.

It sounds like you are fed up with him and if you feel like that everyday then that is no way to live in a relationship, it kinda sounds like he doesn't show you enough respect, and I'm sure there are plenty of other guys who will treat you better. You'll see that once you get out and start meeting new people. Just put yourself in the right places.

This is a tricky one!
Time is the greatest healer, exercise is a great way of dealing with bad stuff such as this, it gets your heart going, the adrenaline kicks in and that makes the brain work in an extraordinary way, you will think about things, however it will give you a great clarity on the subject.
try also going back through your list of friends..... wow you've got loads haven't you! that tells you that there is nothing wrong with you! it was him.
Now, remember, you only have one life that god has given you, he didn't want you being miserable, think of all the great things in your life, now think of all of the opportunity's that you have, the door is wide open.....just walk through it!
If all else fails... sleep with his best mate. revenge is not recommended, but my lord it makes you feel so much better.
