I work for a airline and yes you can carry-on alcoholic beverages, but they have to have their original seal unbroken. Of course you can only have 2 carry-on items and it would be counted in your carry-on count. IIt is a better Idea to carry it on since it is fragile.
I have seen several people put bottles of alcohol in their bag(s) and take the chance that they won't break. It is not a pretty sight if they don't make it, let alone the smell. Especially if it is wine, which stains and 99% of the time does not come out.
The bottles can not be opened on the aircraft though, so if you are planning on drinking it, you will not be able too.

No, you won't be able to take any flammable liquid on the plane, nor can you take any GLASS bottle on the plane. Now, I've seen many people who bring a small flask of booze on the plane, but that's a small amount and i"m sure the guy at the gate checked it over carefully.
When in doubt, call theairlines, and call the airport security.

yes you can provided they are unopened and remain unopened for the entire trip...you cannot take homemade wine on or anything that hasn't been professionally sealed for security reasons..ie you could have biological weapons in the bottle.
