It looks like the others pointed you in the right direction......The YMCA is always a great source of information in certain areas. PAL/ Police depts Activity Leagues are a great way for kids to get a start in sports. Different departments offer different sports/activities and they also get coached/ mentored by the local authorities....Good stuff! The easiest, and, perhaps the quickest way to get info without talking to anyone face-to-face until you are ready to do so is by performing a yahoo search for Oklahoma Boxing gyms. This will take you to a website that lists all gyms in oklahoma. Find the closest one to you that offers what you are looking for. This is an excellent website. It is easy to use, and, immensely helpful for youth, parents, trainers, amateurs, as well as pros. Good luck. By the way, as a trainer for several young fighters in Texas, I have to rely on sites like the aforementioned one to schedule fights, find sparring partners, and, get directions to different gyms. I wish your son the best. Good luck and happy hunting (for gym rats/ opponents).
