I don't think I would slap her for it, but I don't think you should let her get away with it either. Shove her back into the wall with enough force to startle her. Usually this will let her know how angry you are but also shows that you have enough restraint to not just haul off and hit her. However, I wouldn't do this if you did something to deserve the drink being thrown in your face in the first place.
Now, for those that say that you should NEVER hit a woman in any circumstance, I have to say, that I disagree with you. Not saying that I think it's ok for guys to abuse women, because I don't. That's wrong and I think that those men should be beat within an inch of their lives. However, I don't agree with women getting away with hitting a man either. Let me explain myself:
Regardless of what gender you are, you should not hit someone without expecting to be hit back. If a woman is angry about something and she is arguing and fighting with her husband, boyfriend, or any man and she hauls off and hits the guy, she is just as bad as any man who would hit a girl and deserves to be hit back. Abuse works both ways. Yes, I know that in most cases, the male has more physical power than a female and can cause more damage. But I think that most women out there know that. So if you don't want him to retaliate to your own disrespect, then keep your hands to yourself. Growing up I was taught that you shouldn't hit someone. BUT if they hit you first, then you have every right and should hit them back. You shouldn't start something if you can't finish it. It doesn't matter if you are a guy or a girl. I hate all these women out here who think that they can just go around smacking and hitting their husbands/boyfriends just because they are a girl and shouldn't be hit back. It's disrespectful and is considered abuse. I would never in a million years consider hitting my boyfriend for any reason unless we are just playing around, wrestling, or something. And even then, when we play, I would never hit him hard enough to hurt him or make him mad. And I fully expect to be hit back when we play. But because I have respect for him and don't try to hurt him and never take it further than just a light tap, he is same with me. You get what you give.

Did you deserve the drink to be thrown in your face by something you did or said? If you were not being a gentleman, there is your answer. I realize that many women do not act like ladies, but they are still human beings and do not exist solely for your pleasure, or for your abuse. It is a two way street, and people in general need to learn to have more respect for one another. If you were rude or overbearing, and she reacted by throwing a drink on you, you need to walk away, sir. If you are a real man, your ego can take turning the other cheek. If you were to slap her, what would it prove? That you are a big tough man? She knows that or she wouldn't have had to defend herself by throwing the drink. Just be nice, and don't hit people. Hope this helps.

would you slap your mother or sister or daughter? would you allow someone else to slap your mother or sister or daughter? no? then why would you even ask a question like that? it is not okay to hit... meaning no woman should put her hands on you in a violent manner and you certainly should not put a hand on a lady! and in the rare event that a woman didn't have just cause to throw a drink in a man's face, he should get his sister or a female friend to beat her *ss!

I dont think there is any circumstance that makes it ok to hit a women. It is a fact that they are smaller, more fragile and weaker then men. I think for a man to hit them is cowardess and should always be illegal. If a girl throws a drink in your face she doesnt deserve to get away scott free. I would verbally berate them by any means. That is also unexusable and deserves punishments. Anything besides htting should be open game for theat.

Though quite crappy, NO it's not OK to slap the girl... You prolly couldn't get away with it, as people might be watching or the girl would report it... I am a female and even I think it's crappy that guys can't retaliate b/c women have gotten outta hand with that kind of stuff...

No, it's not OK for you or her to throw drinks, slap, punch, etc.! If that ever happened to me, I'd just wipe myself off and use my words: something like: "Wow, it's so nice to see that you're actually the wonderful girl that I thought you were; good for you! did it make you feel better? because you and I won't be getting together again ever; you made your own bed, now lie in it." then, just turn around and leave...this will have her sizzling even more and will also have you looking like a good guy.

No, it's never ok for a guy to put his hands on a girl. You can throw a drink back in her face, that's what you could do, but to slap her....you don't want to go to jail now do you?

Although it may be justified, if you strike her, charges can be laid against you. The trouble that this would cause would be more trouble than it's worth. Did you provoke her action? If so, she may have reacted to what you did. You could lay charges against her. At the very least, you should get a new shirt out of this. Girls should not get away with bad behaviour just because they are girls. In the 21st century, everybody pays for their misdemeanors.

It is never OK to slap a LADY. It is likely that females who throw drinks are not LADIES, so I say slap away.
Don't be surprised if you go to jail, however...

No. Don't slap, hit or otherwise commit acts of violence to women, or anyone else for that matter. I'd echo the person who asked why she did that in the first place -- what sort of behavior on your part might have led to that?
