I see food for fast food places on commercials and the food in person doesn't look as good as it did on the commercial. Like pizza hut for example there pan pizza looks good on the comemrcial but in person the crust looks nothing like on the commercial.

Photos are re-touched, the food in the pictures is sometimes actually fake, or not what it seems (like on cereal commercials, they used to use a glue and water mixture instead of milk because milk appeared slightly blue on TV)... they brush shelac (enamel) on things to make them shine and use paints and dyes to get the exact right colors... in short, it's not food, or not fit for human consumption, and if it's real, it looks good because more time is put into it than can be spent in a restaurant and it has more ingredients. For instance, it's illegal to put ingredients in the pic that aren't on the actual item, so they show you half a burger (a cut-away view) with the full burger's amount of ingredients (thereby doubling the ingredients)... lots of nifty tricks to lure you into the purchase. Bast**ds!!! lol hope i explained it ok.

A lot of it has to do with the lighting and angles that they use. The commercial creators spend lots of time money and effort to find the freshest, best looking products (for example the hamburger bun with just the right crust color and perfect placement of sesame seeds) as well as having it assembled just right. In real life, restaurants dont spend the time and money to make sure their products look absolutely perfect as it would be too time consuming and expensive. They're concerned with appearance and quality, to ensure that consumers will eat their products.
Sometimes they use nonfood items and doctor them up to look like food...such as using corn syrup and margarine to make a substance that looks like ice cream. They can dye it various colors and shape it however they want, and it won't melt while they are looking for the 'perfect' shot. They do this with many other products, the only rule with this is that the food has to be real. Many companies will use other food substances and argue that the substances that they used are food, even if it's margarine/corn syrup 'ice cream'

certain, that is humorous, yet my sentiments precisely. digital camera tricks continuously make issues/people seem good or extra proper than what that is amazingly. interior the case of quick foodstuff classified ads, they continuously upload extra to the prop (i imagine it is genuine, notwithstanding), make it seem all rather and thick & juicy... it probably takes quarter-hour or so only to prepare it for the commercial. on the different hand, once you bypass to the quick foodstuff restaraunt - they only whip it up in a jiffy or have already got it made.

I'm sure they hire special people to come in and make them just for the commercials. Plus they can digitally enhance whatever they want to showcase to make it look good to the general audience.

because most of the food you see in commercials isnt real food - its either fake or its been doctored in some way to look like that. i read about this somewhere once - they use glue and glazes and all sorts to get food looking just right.

Because what you or they make in mass quantities is made with inferior goods. Lettuce is less green, tomatos over ripe versus the perfection you see on tv.

food stylists... companies like Pizza Hut pay people to make their food LOOK as appetizing as possible, to make you buy the product.
