if you want to practice your religion, fine.

just stop trying to convert people who are perfectly happy with their own beliefs.

i'm sick of christians who think that they have the only correct mindset. They always try to justify breeching freedom of religion and even going to war by saying OTHER people are wrong

Some are self righteous, some not. ... Just like every other religion/belief structure.
Christians that think that they have the only correct mindset are no different than any other religion/belief structure. That is why everyone decides for themself what they believe is the most correct belief and then go about believing it.
What is wrong is Christians trying to force Christianity on people. Yes, that is wrong and should not be done. But that does not have anything to do with the Christian belief structure, it just has to do with that particular person. Christians were given an instruction from our Lord to go and tell the good Word to people....not to force the Word on people. If this is your impression of Christianity...I am sorry for that.

If you are right, then I am wrong. If I am right, then you are wrong. That's simple logic.

If you are wrong, then it doesn't matter how "perfectly happy" you are; you are lost. If I am wrong, then I would love to be corrected so that I can be right. Don't you feel the same way?

If I am right, then I have been commanded to teach others (Mark 16:15-16), and the fact that you don't want to hear it doesn't really matter. If you didn't want to hear about the Bible, then why did you come to the Religion section of Y!A?

As far as "Freedom of Religion," the First Amendment says that Congress shall pass no law abridging the free expression of religion (although the Supreme Court is sure trying to outlaw it); that doesn't mean that all religions are valid. God is not bound by the First Amendment.

And Christians aren't going to go to war to convert people; that's following the example of Mohammed, not Jesus. We'll just try to talk to you calmly and rationally.

In every religion, there are good people who follow the principles of their religion and bad ones who twist their beliefs to justify bigotry, violence, and other atrocities. Unfortunately, in this country as in many others, the ones who support violence and bigotry are in the majority and they're the ones who voted the self righteous right-wing radicals into power.

"Atheists are unfastened thinkers", the guy reported. it is genuine. they're. study this definition of "unfastened thinkers" from the Catholic Encyclopedia and pay particular suggestions to the final sentence. the only factor a unfastened-reality seeker stands for, ultimately, is himself. "unfastened Thinkers -- people who, forsaking the religious truths and ethical dictates of the Christian Revelation, and accepting no dogmatic coaching on the floor of authority, base their ideals on the unfettered findings of reason on my own. unfastened-theory, of which they make a occupation, is an exaggerated variety, nonetheless a rather logical progression of the doctrine of inner maximum judgement in religious concerns. The unfastened-reality seeker holds such techniques, despite if of reality or of action, as he's persuaded he can teach; and he supplies assent to no others. he's a rationalist. yet via fact the persuasion of having proved (or of being waiting to teach) even the doctrines of organic faith via reason on my own varies infinitely with the guy, that's complicated, save on the main typical lines, to classification unfastened thinkers jointly." EDIT -- Haug, i'm a former agnostic, now a Catholic and my I.Q. is in the genius point. i'm a member of the worldwide extreme IQ Society. i'm no longer unique in the Church, the two. There are infinite greater exceedingly psychological people who're Christians. Intelligence has little or no to do with despite if or no longer a individual has understanding. those with decrease intelligence can exhibit profound understanding at circumstances, so the factor you're making has no benefit to all people different than your self.

I am the biggest sinner I have ever met. God has shown me that I have been angry without cause (Murder). I have REALLY admired that brand new 36 foot sail boat slipped next to my 1978 29 footer (i am a thief). I love looking a t pretty girls (adulterer). I am not righteous. Every part of my flesh screams SINNER. Thank God Jesus came to save me. He has given me His righteousness. Self righteous I don't think so....

We meet many atheists who are just as arrogant, AND this question has been asked at least 100 times since I've been on this site, and that has only been since March!
AND, once again, I will say, don't generalize, we are not all like that. Have a nice day.

True Christians are not self righteous. We die everyday so that God may be glorified in us. And the Bible tells us that were supposed to go and preach the gospel..................

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does bot believe will be condemned. Mark16:15-16

We attempt to convert people it's what we're told to do. Not all of us are always doing this, either. Ever heard that it takes one person to ruin the look for everyone? There aren't as many Christians practicing what they preach nowadays; it's demeaning. Please try to remember that not all of us are bad.

christians believe that since there are so many followers, it must be the one true religion. Since they are part of something so big, those that are not part of it have got to be convinced for their lives depend on it.
