I like the beauty of old, ornate churches.
However, my worship experience depends much more on what the body of Christ is doing in that building. I attend worship in a relatively new, somewhat plain building, but what goes on during a worship service is uplifting, challenging, and Gospel-centered.
More important, even, than that is the time I spend every day with my Lord. As my pastor often says, "We don't come to church to worship. We come to worship together."

The world is my church, I don't need a particular building to be close to God. with that being said, I do like the architecture of the traditional Churches with the exquisite mason work and tall stained glass windows.

Stained glass is one of the most beautiful of all architectural elements. I have been impressed by many of the new churches, synagogues, and temples, but I'll always have a soft spot for traditional ones. There's a simplicity and dignity about them that I find very compelling.

Give me an old medieval church anytime. With the gargoyles and angels of death to frighten the sheep. They knew how to keep the masses in line in those days.

Prefer the old gothic type- more in line with the horror of christianity of old, modern ones are bland and spineless in my opinion. Anodine..... no passion in them....

Doesn't matter as long as the Word of God is being taught through a willing vessel.
