Using a God to explain the creation of all you see around you...just because you, a collection of organic molecules and processes that has gained awareness of that fact, cannot explain the universe, does not automatically mean that some Uberbeing created it. Do you know the intricate workings of a computer? No? Does that mean God created it? God is a handy way to explain that which seems beyond our highly limited capabilities to explain, and a convenient scapegoat for all that goes wrong in our lives. It's also a perfect excuse for men to subjugate women or those from other cultures. There is more to religion than fear...there is control, that is the main function. Both work well together...it's how our current criminal administration has been able to perpetrate its crimes with minimal outcry from the general public. Our past president commits an act of infidelity and lies about it, that is grounds for impeachment. Our current president launches a war based on lies to further his own aims at the expense of thousands of lives, illegally wiretaps the phones of anyone he chooses, refuses to follow the Geneva Convention, thereby endangering our own troops abroad and commits countless other acts, each of which on its own would constitute more than enough grounds for impeachment, yet he uses fear and religion to stay in power and strip us of more and more fundamental rights. AND THE PEOPLE BUY INTO IT!!!!!
As long as there are people like that, religion will keep going strong.

It is exactly the opposite of what you think.
Follow this logic for a moment. Darwin gave intellectuals a basis to believe in natural, biological creation. Evolution is true, but biological creation of genetic code is an unproven hypothesis. Science will never be able to show how genetic code is created. It is purely a hypothesis, even today.
Worse, this hypothesis has led to godless political philosophies, that have been and are the most oppressive that have ever existed. The Nazi’s were given a scientific justification for ethnic cleansing (Jews), and many nations use this justification today. The godless Marxists eliminate (kill) capitalists and (kill) believers and (kill) anyone else who gets in their way to create a dreary and oppressive society. Open your eyes, would you like to live in Cuba or North Korea, or during Stalin's programs and Mao's revolution. 10's of millions of people suffered and died.
Yes, fanatical believers do exist, and they are as bad as the godless groups. However, the message of God is to love God with all your heart, and love others as you love yourself. Anything less than this is a power play that is not aligned with a creator.
Some people go off message, and that is what is focused on, but the impact is small compared to what godless societies have caused. That is purely the truth.
Philosophically, since God is a creator, he created each of us for a reason. Thus, government should protect each of our individual rights and allow each of us to find our destiny. This aligns with a society that believes in a creator and freedom of religion.
I deeply fear Godless societies. Government should respect the free expression of religion of all people and all communities. Belief in a creator is vital to the health of a society.
Here is my test for you: when you have a child, just look in their eyes and tell them they are a random quirk of nature and in the grand scheme of nature, their life is meaningless. I dare you.
I exist and a creator created me. What about you? Take care my friend!
