Where did the phrase "blue balled bastard" originate?

I think that particular phrase is pretty new. Bastard of course has been in the english language for a while, and means a child who's father is unknown. The English, with their uppity airs seem to have decided this was a serious insult in it's own right.

"Blue Balls" is more of an american term. Some gentlemen claim that they will suffer from this malady if they don't get laid. The idea is that without sex, blood stops circulating to their testacles, and eventually they turn blue, and fall off, just like a sheep, goat, or steer looses it's balls after the ranchers wrap a huge rubber band around them.

Others suggest that being "Blue balled" happens to you naturally after getting kicked there repeatedy, such as by a woman who is trying to keep herself from getting raped.

so a blue balled bastard is a horny jerk, and he's the son of a horny jerk.
