Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

It depends on what kind of acne you have.
If it's not so serious and just above the skin then anything with benzoyl peroxide or salycilic acid in it will peel it off but also leave skin a little dry and red.
If more serious then I would go to a dermatologist.

Now if your talking home remedy, etc. which obviously was your question remember this: major acne outside of the average breakout is genetic. The best remedy for all and any kinds of acne is to drink LOTS of water, eat healthy, look up what kind of foods are good for your skin, etc.
But that is the best thing.....I know from experience.
I have dealt with serious and not so serious adult acne for years and it has made me crazy.
I've tried everything you can imagine over the counter, at the dr. and at home.
I finally had to buckle down and be healthy. Getting enough sleep, drinking water and eating well.
The rest of the problems I have still have with acne is something I have to learn to except.

A good fluoride toothpaste. Put a dab over the blemish at night time, cover with a band-aid and wash your face in the morning with a mild soap.
