Why is it that people of religious beliefs are made out to be "narrow minded" and we have a "holier than thou" attitude? I find it ironic that most liberals portray themselves as "open minded" but yet never take the time to respect or consider another person's opinion that happens to disagree with theirs. Why do people with religious beliefs get sterotyped? Not all people who have religious beliefs have an "attitude" or are "narrow minded." Why can you degrade me for my beliefs and opinions, but if I do the same to you, I'm "not minding my own business" and being "closed minded" ??

I completely agree that there are conservative or religious people that are extremely closed minded, but the majority of us are not and we are grouped into the same sterotype as those that are that way!

my question was not one of whether or not my particular religion is right or not. My question was why, as you just did, sterotype me into a group of self-righteous people that look down on others for their difference of opinion. Just because I believe my particular religion is right, does not mean that I don't think others are allowed to have their own, that may be different than mine.

A good example of that, would be what the libs, are trying to do to Joe Libermann, just because he supports President Bush, in the war on terror. They want to defeat him, in the primary's, just because he has a different view. He has always voted with the democrats, 90% of the time. I guess you cannot have your own views on anything, only what the department heads want you to stay in lock-step, other wise you are a marked for defeat..Great Question!!

because they were raised that way, it was drilled into them as a child and now they will follow it until the end, but I do know that there are some people who are open minded to everything, I think I'm open minded. It's just that most people on here are narrow minded.
Also I consider myself a socialist.

You know, maybe we'd all get along if we sat down together at a table and discussed it.
And while we're all sitting there, why not help ourselves to a nice bowl of Ezekiel Brand Cereal?
Yes, you to can be 'full' of God's 'delicious' love.
Open the packaging in your soul and pour in the sweet goodness.
With just a touch of milk I think all of your problems will just float away.
Why not try some today?
Available at your local cereal merchant.

Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. Many (not all) liberals advocate "tolerance" except against Christians. How often do you hear a liberal calling a Muslim or a Buddhist "close-minded?"

Why do we label religions and politics at all? Why do we separate things into categories? We are all the same with different ideas. Why have all of the conflict? It makes no sense to me, but is it suposed to? I don't know.

Do you or do you not believe that your religion is the only correct one, that all others are false, and that people who don't accept your religion are going to hell?
Yes or no?
Now, what were you saying about how you're not intolerant?

I'm conservative but honestly it's not just the liberals. Conservatives do the same thing. I believe in god but then again, the thumpers think I'm going to hell because i don't go to church every sunday. I don't think a person has to go to church to believe in God.
